Both my ferrets love baths! Remember they have a bit of a higher body temp so if you bathe a dog it might be warm to him but to a ferret it could be cold. I say first give them play time in the tub with toys and such. Even occasionally turn on the water so they can associate play with the water coming out! Every single baby has its different quirks and likes, if its just water make it the least time and least stressful as possible!

The ‘hammock bed’ - next time instead of gluing the fabric on. Start with a pillow case. Build the top frame to fit snug in the pillow case. Then put a little slit in the fabric (like a button hole). The ‘legs’ go thru the button hole into the 3way elbow. More durable then felt, no glue, ez to remove for washing. Cool idea to use the closet as a cage. Enjoyed watching them get their bath. Very funny, they seem way more interested in playing? Lol but that makes bath time fun.

That's strange. Ferrets should get along well no matter the age difference. I have 2 elder ferrets & one baby, they didn't like the baby at first but I wasn't gonna have that. So I pretty much would force them yo spend time with the baby (if they were sleeping on one level of the cage & her on the other, i'd put her with them to cuddle, I would give each of the males one on one time with her so they'd get used to her) after a couple of weeks they learned that she is going to be part of the family so they started playing more often & now they are all inseperable.

Not a bad idea. My ferrets have never ever been caged. The big cage is in the ferret safe office and the most I do is close the office door at night. From 6 in the morning till midnight they have the roam of the house. I'm just one of those people that cannot cage and animal. I don't see the point of it if you're going to have an animal they need to have some freedom. That's how they were designed. Just my opinion. But good job and giving them space. Great idea

I will do the same eventually! However, Im having a hard time potty training them! They arnt catching on very quickly 😒

@@TitoTheRaccoon typically like they like to go in corners. I use the pee pads. You get them from Walmart a box of 100. Once they know where those pads are they will go on those pads wherever you put them. If you see them backing up if you can grab them quick enough and put them on a pad they will get the hang of it. However if you're not quick enough it will be like a poop gun and whichever way you have them pointing is where it's going to go.

@@TitoTheRaccoon if your house is too big they may get lazy and poo in a corner rather than walk a the way back to his shitbox. When mine wakes up i try to make sure he goes to the bathroom before i open the door to the rest of the house. We are on same sleep schedule so it works out ok

I do this too, but with newspaper. We just try to catch them in the act of getting started, and move them. Even my most rebellious boy is finally catching on. I shower them with praise when I see them making the effort. I talk to mine a lot though and they know their names. We go on walks one on one too now that fall is almost here and it's cooler out. Attention, and learning basic communication is one of the most important things with these kids I've found. They know what I mean sometimes, without me doing anything other than looking at them a certain way.

Those bags are 5 dollars at tractor supply. But filling the whole bottom with it..I dunno, I use old towels n stuff for my bedding and their litter is the equine pine pellets. Otherwise they think the whole place is their litter box.

Lila Ryok Pine is toxic to ferrets please don’t give them it. I made the same mistake with my bunnies when I got them because I was a dumb 11 year old. It really makes all small animals sick. It killed my friend’s hamster in a month.
@amberof20156 жыл бұрын
@@emilyyoung8552 hmm. Mine never showed signs of sickness and theyve been using it for 3 and a half years now. Like theyre still 100 percent healthy. I can understand hamsters and bunnies and such because they'll eat it thinking its food. I know its toxic for them to eat but my ferrets never tried.
@emilyyoung85526 жыл бұрын
Lila Ryok It has nothing to do with them eating it, I know for sure my bunnies didn’t. Why even risk it? Do some research please.

give them blankets they like instead of bedding. bedding makes them smellyer and less hygenic. also, add some levels to your new large cage, they will apreciate it greatly. Make tents out of multiple sheets / blankets you know they link and cuddle up in. they will like that much more

I love this video with all the little ones so much so that I have one of my very own, or shall I say he’s my family 💕 I live down here in the Florida Keys, and since Irma a lot of places are not here. Meaning pet stores...without the pets...so I researched a little reached out on the web and found a place that is a rescue for animals...not just dogs and cats but all,animals. I drove 4 hours away for little Leo. He has some hereditary handicaps...(but you’d never know it!) Just his very presents, his delight in just being alive and curious keeps me having the faith in what is around. I’ve been through two wars. My father was in Vietnam, his brother was in the Koren, one of three girls....anyway... Leo helps me with my PTSD. It’s nothing knew about how ones life is more enriched when you have the privilege of having any type of animals as a companions, now I can only speak for myself because every person is different but My Leo is more like me, after the wars, than any other animal. Before the wars, And while growing up I have had dogs and cats (nothing more painful when God calls them ‘home’) but needless to say after the wars...or rather after anything traumatic (now, this is just my opinion..take it or leave it) things change. Without making this comment into a book I left all the little demons one has in the box. Not minimizing..just generalizing. Leo only needs the best of me without asking, or needing. He’s a constant source of comfort and motivation even when the darkest demons come. I could go on and on with the positive...in a nut shell....Leo is my hero! Your little ones make my heart leap, smile and cry...happily. Thanks for sharing it touches even the scarred of hearts 💕

The pine oils in the pellets can irritate ferrets' respiratory system or have other negative health consequences. I'd really recommend switching to a non-pine, non-cedar wood pellet or recycled paper pellets. :)
@TitoTheRaccoon6 жыл бұрын
Yes! I was more worried about it hurting there eyes. I switched them over to paper shreds already!
@calliewest44216 жыл бұрын
Those specific pine pellets are kiln dried which gets rid of all of the oils.
