My racoon stays outside most of the time. I have to keep the patio door locked while I am asleep bc he is able to open the door and he does like to get into things, but other wise he is allowed to come and go through a dog door in another part of the house that is closed off. I feed his relatives on the patio in the evenings, but so far Tinker avoids them even though they follow him to the patio when he returns fromm playing in the pond.....wet and dirty so I have to give him a flea bath when he comes in. . I am a firm believer in freedom for animals and humans.

You must be very careful about posting little Piper on You Tube, one young man and his wife recently had the home busted into by SPCA and their squirrel that they had raised from a baby and a raccoon was taken from them and euthanized. This was horrible for them not to mention the animals involved. This is total over the top over reaction for the Agency involved. Just keep little Piper off camera and safe.

we visited a couple over the weekend who have 3 raccoons. they are super cute and friendly. at the same time really hyperactive, i can imagine they can do some damage to a home. the woman assured me they were not a big hassle in the house but i believe what i see in this video. in any case i loved petting them and feeding them. the raccoons were more easy going than the cats we have at home in terms of being pet a lot. it would be easy to talk me into taking one , or two, in.
