excellently described. I would add that Tivat has the best microclimate in every sense. Especially enjoyment for families, active vacations and hedonism. Preseason and postseason are the best options. Hiking on the Vrmac, tennis courts, open gym, padel courts, water sports, enjoying resorts, cafes with the most delicious food, beautiful nature. Humane place, according to man. We stayed for a month in Mia Casa apartments, a little separated from the center and yet close (with a view of the bay). Beautiful, spacious, we only hear crickets and enjoy the shade of the kiwi. Tivat, grade 10+

Thank you for publicly criticyzing these unpleasant people. Owners have to understand that they are responsible for their work force. You and everyone else visiting Tivat are more than wellcome and hope that over time mentality will change and service will be better. Hope you will come back and that we will learn.EDIT: Tivat is a beautiful small adriatic town. A lot of locals are very friendly and open, but there is a lot of people that came here to work and they lack the basic skils along with education and manners. Really do hope you will come back again.

@Ian Sacksthank you very much for taking interest and voicing out your sincere observation... we will take that on board.... pristine beaches and beautiful mountain backdrops in Montenegro are truly amazing and we are glad that you have also recognised it.... in regards to the corruption most would agree that it was neither invented or perfected by the government of Montenegro.... its widespread through the world and present in every single country today..... level of corruption would be directly or very closely proportionate to the population of the country.... so if you divide population of your country by 600 thousand you would see how many times your government is more or less corrupt.... its fairly simple and very close to the truth
@darkomugosa64023 жыл бұрын
@Ian Sacks Well, that's not the theme of this video, but your opinion is correct. Unfortunately, we are society in transition, and a lot of things are not as they should be, but that is not only the problem with a tourist, it is the problem to all ooen minded citizens of Montenegro. Some parts of our countrey are fast developed, and it goes on the low quality side, but the beauty of our nature is no under question. When you meet right people here, they will show all the beauties of Montenegro. I recommend you Petrovac and Ulcinj on the south, and almost every town on the north. Maybe you will not be satisfied with hospitality, infrastructure and architecture, but the nature is more tha beautiful. Especially valleys under mountain Prokletije. You have to stay more days to feel and see all the beauty.

Tivat is not a city that caters to tourism. Porto Montenegro is a port for people with yachts its not for the typical tourist either. The rest of the city is a residential area. Neither are the people paid enough or are they obliged to be extra customer friendly. Pekara Davidović is most likely just a regular neighborhood bakery and there is no reason for them to employ people with perfect English. Spending one hour in a place and meeting three locals and deciding that its not at all worth visiting is very weird to me, since you apparently made no effort to learn about this city. Expecting locals to be your dream hosts is extremely entitled, especially as this particular city really doesn't need your visit to survive. Comparing Tivat to Kotor is like comparing Paisley to Edinburgh, and just shows you made zero effort to learn about a country you were so quick to judge.
@TwoMadExplorers3 жыл бұрын
We expect to be treated as humans where we travel. This is not being entitled, it’s simply expecting human decency. If you visit a city anywhere in the world and you have 3 bad experiences in just 1 hour.. it’s a pretty strong signal that it’s not a great place. We understand they don’t need tourism, we never said that, but just because I don’t need something doesn’t mean that I treat others like crap.
@ivakuljaca63783 жыл бұрын
@@TwoMadExplorers From your words I don’t see how anyone treated you like *crap*... the fact that one restaurant didn’t have the burger you wanted and that girls working in one local bakery weren’t extatic to see you isn’t inhumane on anyone’s behalf. Neither is Porto Montenegro, you could have easily figured out what kind of place it is before going. I never said Tivat is a great place, it’s just one of many poor cities in the Balkans, and it is entitled of you, or any other tourist for that matter, to expect extreme hospitality. Anyways, my point is that you should be a bit more aware of the context of the place you’re visiting.

Everywhere you can have excellent, neutral or a bad experience, it just depends on individuals. My mother was in Tivat once and she had a good expereince. My children and I are flying on Tivat this summer to go to Herceg Novi once more. Kotor is very beautifull I agree but not low cost, it is for the rich just as Dubrovnik is too. 30 years ago was everything cheaper and opener for tourists. Now is everything too crowded and too expensive, you have to know where you can get low budget vacation otherwise your wallet get empty before you know

Kotor, Budva, Tivat... those cities are just the touristic hotspots in Montenegro. Kotor, all the big cruising ships full with day tourist... Budva, the city for parties in the town an beach... Tivat, for the one who ones theyr own yacht or want to spent a lot of money... But, there are a lot of lovely places, where the prices are nice, the people are friendly and you can enjoy the country. If you like the coast and the beach, you should visit Ulcin in the south. Nice sand beaches, enough space Up in the north, there are the mountains, lakes, small towns... and it is by temperature nicer (cooler) in the summer. We have a summerhouse in Sutomore, so we are in a short walking time at the beach (you just have to find a nice free spot...) or by car in Bar where there you also can find nice beaches and good restaurants. From Sutomore, you can drive in a easy time (about 2-3 hours) to the mountains. You can find canyons, hiking places in the mountain, old villages where you sleep for small money and eat fresh food. In the wintertime, you also could ski there, but we are mostly there in the summertime. I did my boatlicense in Tivat, but during this time, I was mostly on the water...😎 and I didn't have to stay in the town. Ther rest of us, visited Tivat and were not really impressed. The good thing from Tivat is, from the port you can book nices boattrips. We come here to Montenegro since 2011 (I drive the car and the rest are usually flying to come here) and found many nice places. Enjoy you visit, even if you have bad experiences, it ist not everywhere the same.
@MrColin2222 жыл бұрын
You should have visited Budva too. It is beautiful there. We stayed in Tivat for a few days and found it either to expensive in the city centre and too remote on the outskirts where we stayed. If I was to recommend Montenegro I’d say base yourselves in Budva. A lot going on and can be done on any budget all in the same city centre. I would recommend Big Ben restaurant though, very nice, friendly, cosy, good food and a super view.

Thanks for visiting my country Montenegro❤. During 90's country went thrpugh suffering from war in Yugoslavia and that definitely left consequences on our little Montenegro, we went throught long years of inflation. And to be honest maybe since we re independent from 2006 we just start evolving step by step. And from 2010 maybe our tourism getting better. So low salaries for long pwriod of time and inflation and many other factors also affect pwople you know. But indeed we re people with good intwntions and like freedom and welcome others but just try to understand that we re too small to compete or evwn compare to many more developed places. But we try. And we beautiful nature, just we need time to recover from previous wrong corrupted governmwnts etc. So I hope you ll get to explore more. We love you visit us🎉.
