Julia Jetson yes but just like the app it shows you free content and paid. When you select amazon only in the TiVo stream it will only show free content from prime along side paid content from google if selected.

Tivo used to have a way to tell it not to show purchase only shows/movies, is there a way to enable currently owned Prime shows/Google shows, but not list for sale ones going forward?

Steven Day i havent seen it yet in the TiVo stream app. Ive been having to switch to movies anywhere app and Apple TV device to watch my movies that are not transferred to movies anywhere.

Thomas, I wanted to know your thoughts on the Tivo Stream app aggregation vs Apple TV app aggregation. I personally think the Apple TV app (on the Apple TV4k) is excellent but it does not show you the next episode of Netflix shows. I wanted to know if Stream 4k app will show you Netflix series you are watching and have the next episode available? We use the Apple TV app almost 100% of the time, but we have to go into Netflix app and see what is listed under "continue watching" since they are not part of the Apple TV app.

Same here. I find myself switching from devices everyday since the Apple TV app is not available on the TiVo stream or any other android box as of yet. The Apple TV used to have Netflix in the up next and Apple TV app but was removed about 3 or more TvOS’s ago that i would love for them to bring back. There is a tab for netflix that i have on the home screen that i think is set at recommended but when i get home ill let you know if it has the continue watching option or any other option for netflix.

Brian Docili looks like it only has netflix recommends for you. Netflix doesnt show in play next either. I can get sling, hbo max and showtime on play next but not netflix.

The hard drive i got came from my bad airport time capsule and i have it connected to the airtv box compatible with sling tv that integrates my local channels from the antenna into the sling TV guide.

@@lenness9962 yes. Local channels will record to the local hard drive connected to the airtv box while all other channels will record onto slings cloud dvr. Recorded local content can still be accessed away from home within the sling app under recordings/my dvr

I use a roku Tv and the most important streaming services to me are youtube TV, F1 tv pro and pluto TV. I have tried sling twice in the past twelve months and left it for youtube tv again. What advantages would I get using tivo?

Nothing really unless you want to use the usb c port to expand the storage, side load apps like kodi and TiVo stream has TiVo+ channels like Pluto and the stream app is integrated with sling and the guide will combine sling channels (except for locals on AirTV) and TiVo+ channels (TiVo+ cannot be paused or recorded). Just to mention a few things.

Sling doesn't offer local channels. You will need an antenna, USB C Hub and a USB tuner. Or a HDhomerun. You can use any streaming service on it. It just most likely won't show up inside the Tivo app. You can add storage as well through the USB C port.

I dont know. I have sling tv which is exclusive to the TiVo stream and the channel buttons do work with sling and TiVo+ guide. I tried using the channel buttons on Pluto tv but they dont work. The guide button brings up the TiVo+ guide which has the sling and Pluto guide integrated within it as well so i get all my channels from sling, TiVo+ and most of Pluto all in one guide.

Fernando Calero I’ve replaced my roku sticks and fire tv 4K sticks with the TiVo stream. I now have 3 TiVo streams, 3 Apple TV 4K and 1 Nvidia shield 2017 modelWith remote and game controller. As of yet there’s nothing close to the Nvidia shield in my opinion (others may beg to differ). I will be using the TiVo stream for mostly everything it is faster “again in my opinion” than the fire tv and roku I will also be using my Apple TV 4K to watch Apple TV+ content and my movies in my library which most are in 4K and the Nvidia shield I will use for some gaming. If you’re a prime member you can still add the amazon app to this and still watch your prime movies and shows. The only thing missing for me is the Apple TV+ app then I won’t need the Apple TV for anything (I think) as long as my purchased movies will still stream in 4K.

Thanks for the demo! My unit arrived on Saturday and I am wading through the features. I was surprised to see Sling does not offer local channels! Nor, CBS , CW, or PBS! That's not good! Do you know if one can substitute another service for Sling, such as KZbinTV and it's DVR? I am not really keen on the "My Shows" display not allowing for a Grid format. I'm a TiVo guy from way back and have a BOLT today. I'm trying to cut the cable, of course, but I really want exactly what the BOLT does but without the cable. Do you know if TiVo online (from your PC) has program management for the Stream 4k as it does for the BOLT? So, right now, I'm kind of "so-so" on the Stream 4k. I want to get locals (and OTA is not possible at my condo). Also, Sling is just "so what" to me. The DVR is limited to 50 hours unless I pay more. I'm not shooting it all down yet, but so far, it hasn't really resolved my needs.

As of now the only service integrated with it is sling. I have att tv and they don’t support android systems but I was able to side load it onto the stream and Nvidia shield tv. I am using a AirTV box that connects to my WiFi and it works with sling so I get all my antenna channels in the sling guide using that app I also have a 2Tb hard drive connected to the AirTV so it allows me to record local channels as well. I showed it in one of my videos might have been this one but the locals will only show up in the sling guide and not in the TiVo stream guide as they have not integrated it for the device yet. I hope they will soon add it so I won’t have to switch apps just to get locals. It would also be nice if they can add a live video of the current channels playing in one of the corners while scrolling the guide instead of it quitting the live stream while on the guide. I’ve submitted my feedback to sling and TiVo about this maybe is we get enough requests they might add it. TiVo online does not work with the stream.

@@viper31415 I also was rather surprised to see the limited streaming services they support. Where is CBS All Access, PBS, Prime? Frankly, if they took an OTA Bolt (I have BOLT cable now) and added more streaming services, I'd be fine with that.

Could you do a video on how the Tivo 4k and the Sling TV work together. I have Sling and would like to find a better way to view. The app on my tv I have trouble with. Seems like I have to log into my Sling account every time. My Apple TV the remote is terrible and trying to fast forward through commercials on recorded programs is unreal. I'm hopping the Tivo 4k might be the answer. Would love to hear your comments or a video would be wonderful. I do also have a Tivo Bolt OTA. Thanks RG

R G i understand because i am also using the Apple TV 4K for sling before cancelling att tv now. You can still use the sling app on the TiVo stream device if you use a AirTV box for locals because as of right now we cannot access our antenna local channels from the AirTV box using the stream app guide. I was also having issues on the time always having to sign in but never on my Apple TV. Since the latest update for the stream my sling account has been stable. With the stream you will have to go to TiVo website, create a account and link you sling account. Then when you press the guide button on the remote or open stream app then go to guide there you will see all of your sling channels along with TiVo+ channels.

You cannot get tv on this device. It’s not like your TiVo dvr for antenna or cable. It’s a streaming device just like the fire stick. You can use other apps to get live local channels but you cannot record them unless you have a plex server or something similar.

treyatl2006 to compete with the fire tv and roku yes and you cannot stream your recordings from a TiVo dvr. If you ever wanted a nvidia shield but do not want to pay over $100 then this (or some other android box) is the closest you will get to having one.

None of you people bothered to try a USB DAC. I have an SBxG5 , fiio k1, fiio e(7?12?), dragonfly red and a douk audio p1 I haven't even used the dac on yet just the tube amp, let's see..... will edit gathering bits and Bob's it occurs to me any dac working in linux should be game on here if otg is supported, which in 2020 seems like you'd be going out if your way to have it read external storage but not send audio to a dac.

You say it opens the Netflix app, but from where? The one on my built in Roku tv or from my actual Tivo bolt box? Hopefully not the Tivo bolt because the Tivo box apps suck, I have Tivo bolt DVR and a yearly subscription, or does the app come on this dongle thing? .. if you are familiar with the Tivo experience, you can have what they call a mini box in other rooms so you can watch and setup recordings from those TV's... Does this new 4k dongle stream the DVR recordings I have? Or will it just do app stuff.... I can't seem to find any reviews on how it works with current bolt DVR subscription box owners, sorry long questions but looking for someone with hands on experience thanks

The Toolmat your talking about a different product. The product in this video is the new TiVo stream 4K. It is a totally different product than the TiVo screen products we’re used to. This is just like a fire tv, roku and Apple TV streaming device. There is no way to access you dvr content on your other TiVo devices it’s just another streaming dongle.

Brian m from the android home screen go to settings/device preferences/more/display/screen resolution. From there you can disable AUTO SWITCH TO BEST RESOLUTION and under display mode you can set the desired resolution for your screen such as 1080p-60hz whatever your tv supports.

Matt L i checked the App Store and the TiVo app is not listed. It’s the same play store as the nvidia shield with a lot of missing apps. Att tv isn’t in the app and i had to sideloaded it onto one of my devices as i did with my nvidia shield.

Tim Temple directv, at&t tv and AT&T tv now is not in the Play Store. I used to sideloaded at&t tv now formerly directv now when i had them and the apk i had worked fine. DirecTV may have a link to download their app or you may just have to sideloaded it onto the TiVo stream.

How did you get The CW channel on Sling TV with TiVo Stream 4K I see it has the CW channel on the box of the TiVo Stream 4K does that mean the CW channel comes built in with Sling TV on the TiVo Stream 4K device? I want to get the CW channel it has all the shows I love and I want to be able to record them. What product do I need to make that happen like how you show in the video?

Mickey Conway i use the AirTV box (i got it off ebay for $30). Connect the antenna to the AirTV, connect AirTV to router (hardwired or wifi your choice) open sling on a mobile device and go to settings, set up device or connect AirTV or something like that it should be the last option on the bottom and follow the instructions. Theyre some videos on KZbin on how to set it up. The CW is part of my over the air local channels that i get with my antenna and with the AirTV it integrates all my locals that i get with my antenna into the sling guide but they do not show inside the TiVo stream guide unless you select a sling channel within the TiVo stream app click up to get the sling guide then the locals will show. I also have a 2tb hard drive connected to the AirTV which turned the AirTV into a dvr and allows me to record locals onto the hard drive connected to the AirTV.

Ganon i wish there was a way. We’ve been asking for this feature since the beta. It supposedly goes to sleep after whatever time set you have and pressing the power doesnt turn it off as you would think. Another feature that hasn’t come yet to the device is sling recordings in my shows for those who are subscribed to sling can easily find their recordings in TiVo+.

When you select a Netflix video to watch, is it played directly in the TiVo Stream 4k app or does it change to the Netflix app? When the movie has completed does it return to the TiVo Stream 4k. You did not show how that works in your video.

KZbin only allows 15 minute videos but just like the Apple TV and fire tv it will open the netflix app and when its done it will stay in the netflix app until you press back then it will go to the TiVo stream or press home and go back to the android home screen.

To me, this is another inconvenient device because others have already done so. FireTV already have search where sources might be coming from Netflix. This device failed in many areas....low amount of hard drive space, Sling TV integration only rather than from more than one providers and the TV Guide looks boring. And why would i want to open up a Netflix to watch a show when i can go to Netflix? Okay, so the purpose is to find all the movies in one place. If that is the argument...then how is this better than Kodi or Cinema app...no way. If you want better channels integration, you might as well go with HDHomerun and Channel DVR.

I think it is mostly Tivo lovers who will benefit from it. I used to Love Tivo but hated the monthly subscription so I stopped using it. I also am a big fan of the Tivo Remote. So for me I would probably love it. But yeah, don't bother unless you are a Tivo fan.

@@viper31415 No, i use Ethernet on my 4K TV and Router. I do know Firestick 4K has the dongle for Ethernet, but i also heard you can use Gig to Gig with a USB 3.0 Ethernet adapter along with 2-1 micro USB 3.0 adapter to connect Gig to Gig on Firestick. The Tivo has conflicting news on Ethernet. The Shield is Gig to Gig, but i'm interested in knowing if Firestick can do Gig to Gig.

It's kinda *DUMB* that it's stuck in HDR mode. If something isn't in HDR, it doesn't look right. The majority of the stuff you gonna be watching with this isn't in HDR. WTF were they thinking!?
