Devicineplex stands as a symbol of architectural beauty and design, it is located in the very heart of Chennai City, housing multi-level State of the art four Cinema halls vi. DEVI, DEVI PARADISE, DEVI BALA, DEVI KALA on different floors of the same building. Devi Theatre was opened on 23-05-1970, Devi Paradise on 05-07-1970, Devi Bala on 12-08-1971 and Devi Kala on 21-11-1974. All the four cinema halls are fully Air-conditioned with chilled water system, comfortably cushioned push back seats, tastefully done interiors, subdued lighting and all modern amenities in every respect. The building has a smooth flowing ramp connecting all floors besides two semi circular elevator.

10:49 Safire theatre complex was the first multi theatre complex not Devi. Safire was open in the 60s and Devi in 70s. I am still intrigued why the change of screen dimension was not discussed. Devi's screen was wider and it had a deeper curvature than now. It was reduced during the renovation in 2009 or a year prior to that. I think Avatar was the first to be screened after the renovation..if I remember it correctly.The reduction in seat capacity was discussed but not the screen dimension. The curtain (Austrian curtain) raiser in Devi was the best in my experiece ..I miss those days.Anyways thanks to the team of trendglitz for talking to Devi theatre's manager.
