I grew up in the province and moved to Manila in high school and didn't speak Tagalog all that well so I would speak in English. Eventually, I was able to speak Tagalog without an accent but I would tell everyone I was from the province. Because I am the mestiza type and had a brain on my head, nobody frowned when I would switch to Hiligaynon whenever. It was a always a battle between 3 languages for me-whichever my brain would register first. When people looked at me funny, it was because I spoke in Hiligaynon and I would just shrug and laugh. I am very cheeky and simply cannot care for the opinions of others outside of my family and friends. However, such is not the case for all. I noticed that many of those with provincial accent would be self conscious unless they were old. So thank you for making a Visayan song that rocks. A lot of Tagalogs are loving it and a lot of those from the provinces are claiming their roots proudly through music such as this. Whether by chance or with intention, you and this generation of artists have significantly contributed to further our people's unity. Well done! 🙂♥👏 I wish you and KZ a lifelong of happiness.
