mate congratulations from an Aussie. At last someone is using their intelligence and working with 6" pipe. We classify it as storm water pipe. Most likly to late but dont weld it, as sure as God created Emus you will be wanting to change your design and 'oh dang it, I cannot use that piece again as its glued.' I push my pieces together wrap duct tape around the join and bingo sealed. I have also had my system up for 6 years and NEVER had a static problem except from the wife. Id show pics but it was dismantled yesterday as we are moving. Great work.

Thanks, The few joints I have "welded up" are the turns. I do not weld the straight runs because your right - things are always changing. I am a bit surprised you don't have a static problem - my experience with Australia is that it is dry. Hope you have a bigger place for your new shop - Thanks for the feedback.

You should have taken a few minutes and made a miter box and cut the wood with either a table saw or miter saw. Then you could cut the pipe with a hand saw or with a couple mods the miter box on the table saw like a sled and cut the PVC on the table saw by rolling the pipe in the sled.

Clear Vue Cyclones. I purchased it a l long time ago and have had good luck with it. They are not cheep. They are based on Bill Pentz designs - Specifically tuned for wood dust and chips. You can find them at clearvuecyclones.com

Using that ground wire, you probably eliminated .01% of the static electrify in that pipe, if you're lucky. The pvc doesn't conduct, so spacing the ground screws out doesn't do much. The shop looks amazing though, I look forward to your build out. 3rd.

I saw this technique on another KZbin video and thought I would give it a try. My humidity levels in the shop are quite a bit lower than Houston so there is a touch of concern, but only a touch. It is more of an experiment on my part. Either way I am going with PVC. Thanks for the comments on the shop. It is slow going but I hope to have some cabinets soon.

At 16 mins one idea to help out is to cut part of the pipe in .5-2" long then half moon or quarter it. You can glue that to the outside of your walls to make your own fitting. It will be a lot easier align those pipes.

I might have done it that way... as it turns out, I have three more joints made from mitered pipe - not the joint. Those turned out much better and considerably stronger that I thought they would. Those did not make the show. At this point, I don't really need any more of them. Thanks for the comments.
