yes but the problem is with anything detachable the unit does not feel as solid , look at the regular Switch for exemple , and that is much smaller , they use metal rails and is still not solid enough to keep it in place nice , I preordered the Lenovo Legion Go and I am afraid that this detachable controllers will break the deal for me if they are not stable enough when attached

it's really not, as the performance per watt is only slightly better then steam deck, I would say since it scales to higher wattage, the only benefit these 7840u have over steam deck or even 6800u is docked performance, which mean if you don't have a PC, this would be a ok entry level pc replacement

I definitely would get it, there have been times that I have struggled trying to read the small text on the steam deck. And honestly it's small enough to still fit in a basic book bag. It's definitely still portable, maybe not comfortably but it still is.

At that size I'd definitely want it to be a screen with joycons/detached controller. That size is not comfortable to hold in most positions. I would probably buy something that's basically a thick ass tablet that can run games but like this it just looks like it looses 90% of the use cases I use my deck for while gaining a negligable (for me) increase in screen size. For hand held I think the 7 inch version is pretty ideal. It's a bit small for using it standing on a surface with an external controller but if I'm gonna buy something bigger for that use case I'd want 12 inches or 13.

I modded gamesir x2 to fit 14.6" tab s8. It feels pretty good at 726g it's surprisingly manageable. Streaming moonlight from gaming pc at 1440p 120hz on this oled slab FTW. Battery lasts forever and doesn't get hot at all. No fan noise too!

@hiepbenh88 the gamesir x2 pro has two small tabs. These can be cut off and the springs can be over stretched. No permanent damage is done to the gamesir which can still be removed and used on a smaller device. It's a usbc controller so there's no lag.

If it weren't for the imminent arrival of the Legion Go 8'8 handheld, this would be a great alternative for a massive handheld. It's main issue is the pricing of the 7840u model, which is atleast $100 more than it needs to be. The pricing on the 7640u is quite impressive though for anyone that really only cares about Emulation, since atleast its much better than the trash tier "Z1" non-extreme chip with only 4cu.

I disagree, this console has the LOWEST price atm, 950$ for 32gb + 2Tb ayaneo KUN with 32gb + 1Tb is 1159$ and only 8.4inch That legion go is just 16GB, 2242 type ssd, that will top at 1tb ayaneo A1 pro is 1100 or 1200 for 32gb + 1tb, 8inch onexplayer pro or whataver its name is even higher 1300 or something like that

@@NoBodysGamer Yes for the 32gb+2tb combo, the price is good. But we needed cheaper options with the 7840u, such as an $800 to $850 model with 16gb+1tb. As is the Legion Go with 16gb +1tb at $749 is (much) more attractive. Also you can disagree all you want, but Reality is that since Launch there were only 40 backers, now up to 46 after this video. It would be a miracle if it hit 200-300 backers before the campaign ends. Those are extremely disappointing numbers, and no doubt part of the reason is due to the price. Meanwhile something like the Legion Go will clear 100k sales in the first week easily.

Even just a A380 from intel which probably could run at 15-20 watts. Problem is the battery. 60 wh for this size isn't really great. Aokzoe and Onexplayer use 65.5wh in their devices

Indeed. This is something Aya are trying to do with the Aya Neo Next II, though I feel they may need to go bigger to at least 10" like this. Bigger chasis, better thermals and support for some beefier specs. Of course those going into bigger handhelds ought to know that they are going to be heavier, but good ergonomics can help balance and somewhat mitigate weight. As long as handheld Gaming PCs offer variety and don't try to be all 'Steam Decks' and ROG Ally's, we are in for some exciting possibilities in the Handheld Gaming PC space.

Hold on, this device has a similar apu to the rog ally, and the performance shown with the device looks to be better than the rog ally. For example, cyberpunk on the rog ally runs at 36 fps with the same settings and this one runs at 74 fps with the same tpd and settings. Correct me if I’m wrong but I need some explanation

The launch day special price looks good for what you are getting. I'm not so sure that it is small hands that might be a problem, but weak hands in terms of holding a heavier device for log periods. This is my kind of handheld with a nice big screen. Another device that could be used as a general PC too (I'm assuming that there is HDMI output?).
