I can still remember this song going through my head when I bought my first yacht (1995) and we were on a broad reach. We were flying, my girlfriend's hair was all over the place and to be honest I had no control over the boat. Fast forward to 2004, different girlfriend, different yacht, same phenomenon. Shorter hair though. The rhythm follows what it's like on a yacht. Frenetic, then a moment when you can just dig it. Thank you for taking me 25/16 years back in time, and as always, I love the way you play.

This is normally the last song they played live (May still be playing, haven't seen em in years). Thanks. For some reason, ghost notes came pretty naturally to me. I used to practice on my own A LOT and I'd use ghost notes just to keep time with myself and they became a regular part of my playing. The hard part came when I was asked not to play them, like during recordings. Actually, I looked at the slides you mentioned and I think that they were just the result of trying to get back up to the E (on the A string) and dragging my pinky along the way.
@simonschmitz67193 жыл бұрын
@@TJH3113 yeah, most of the ghostnotes feeling so natural is why this song is so much fun to play imo. but i'm still somewhat struggling with the ones on the g-string and the one before the B in the Refrain. also my stamina in the right hand needs to get a little better. interesting you dind't even think about the slides. i was actually being sure that those were intended. nonetheless, i just love them.
