My Evo V looks completely stock on the outside. Ohlins DFV, Evo IX turbo, fuel system upgrades, EvoLink ECU, completely restored factory interior, etc. It's such a great car that I don't think they need to be heavily modified to be fast and/or cool. Excited to see your build!

Only one tiny tip here for anyone !!! when rusty bolts need to be taken out is better to apply WD-40 or something similar like penetrant foam-oil on all bolts and screws but is critical to do this before any attempt of unscrew, it will make the whole process of dismantling way more easy and might also prevent bolts snapping !!!

TJ make sure you take off the shield covering the fuel pipe between the fuel door and the fuel tank. As an ex owner of an EVO 5, the pipe had rusted through. Snow and salt builds up under there in Japan, even on the least rusty Evo's.

TeeeJ, the MK5 is my all time fav of all Evo’s, and personally I love to lil’ rake you’ve got with the suspension settings, remember, if you want to daily it…. You’ll be having passengers in the back…. Be mindful of that! And that yellow on white rims! Awwwwwhhh I’m in love!

I absolutely love the Evo 7-8, this ones nice too for sure! I would have loved to see some 90-00s Volks or Works. Never really seen TJ go with anything hardcore JDM aside from the TE.

I recommend MRM decals for the rega stickers. The ones that come from icb (the typical US importer of regas) will peel off the first couple washes

I hope he does he a race alignment with him in the drivers seat. I haven’t seen them do that yet on the channel but for a grip car it makes such a difference. They have to adjust the coilovers to start with so it sounds like when he says a full alignment maybe they’ll show it being done.

The white wheels are a good choice. Get them ceramic coated it will make your life of keeping them clean so much easier. (Ask me how I know, lol). Also, I'd get those braces powdercoated white as well to tie it in.

Get the anti roll center bump steer kit since you’re going for a grip oriented build and that’s a must have when lowering the car to keep the suspension geometry like oem

If you want the car to be a grip car you need to ditch the stock style bushings for spherical bearings. Even if they're brand new the stock style bushings deflect and basically change your alignment throughout the corner as the car loads up. Racefab makes fully adjustable/ spherical arms for everything in the evo suspension (and chassis braces too). Adam went thru it all on his white evo so just call him up for the sauce lol

+22 will fit thats what i ran. In aus. Built a 2.3 stroker with mivec. Forward facing turbo 3584. Twin pumps with all the fruit. Made 800at all . Was a great car when it ran.
