Dude keep up the great work with making your preventative maintenance descriptive services videos. You describe things very clearly and easily. They make a roller bearing kit to replace the plastic washers, I installed one in my buddies sled and it makes a huge difference from the little time I had it to ride after the clutch kits were installed from stock !

Thanks Ken. The Dragon used the same clutch. This will be the same process. All the videos on the secondary were pretty bad. Hope this helps.

Excellent description. I would have liked to see you compress that spring though.
@StreetersGarage Жыл бұрын
Thanks! It’s the same as the removal. You just need to press down on the pvc tool to get the spring compressed enough to get the nut on. Once you do the initial alignment of the helix, it drops right in.

I wonder if I could get your measurements for your PVC Pipe and cap you made the compressor tool from
@StreetersGarage Жыл бұрын
It’s about 9” tall. It can actually be as tall as you want. You’ll just need to have the threaded rod about 4” longer to take in for the total spring length.

I have a 2010 skidoo 800 with a Team Tied secondary that was bought in 2012. It looks basically identical to the one in this video. Are the inner and outer replacement rollers sold nowadays the same? I see some websites listing them as inner only and then some say can be used on both?
@StreetersGarage11 ай бұрын
Depends on the year of the clutch. On the newer ones (Past 5 Years) they changed the width of the roller. Not sure if they’re interchangeable though.

Hello! Thanks for the video, quick question: do you have a spring setup for the primary and secondary clutch of my Switchback Aventure 2012 600. Either in the EPI or others.
@StreetersGarage11 ай бұрын
I haven’t done anything with the Adventure. EPI is a good resource as well as NorthStar Performance in NH to give you some ideas.

@@StreetersGarage OK! THANKS. I'm thinking of taking EPI, but it's not easy to choose the right springs. Good evening !

How do you know when the rollers need to be replaced? Is there a certain mileage the rollers should be replaced at? Awesome video by the way. I was wondering where the thrust bearing was installed. Some kits use a washer on both sides of the thrust bearing. What are your thoughts on that? I assume you installed the delrin washer in the roller assembly, I couldn't see that specifically in the video.
@StreetersGarage Жыл бұрын
Typically I’ll replace them every 2000 miles. For the Delrin washer I put it in the bottom on the top of the spring since there’s already the roller bearing on the r bottom of the spring cup. Usually one washer is fine. You have to be aware of the height of the assembly stack. If you add too much, it will have an adverse effect on the working spring pressure.

Hey I have the same secondary on my rmk 700 2002 I couldn't open the secondary to get the belt off is that normal how do I open it up to change belts
@StreetersGarage2 жыл бұрын
Hey Matt. You should have the older Button Type Secondary. Couple of ways to get the belt off. 1. Grab the belt and roll it off the secondary as you rotate the belt off. Helps to have the rear of the sled elevated. 2. Grab the sheaves and rotate them to engage the helix and open the secondary to loosen up the belt.
