It's a funny line but you know, despite not having money in the future I wonder how many sentient-being-hours of labor that shuttlecraft cost to manufacture. Even with 24th century manufacturing techniques it could be the equivalent of lifetimes worth of labor.

It seems implied (at least after the writers started getting their footing) that whenever a Q manifests to look like a species for the first time, they just adopt the clothing of whomever they want to talk to, since they don't perceive things on the same level that we do. Like a 3-dimensional being not having any concept of 2-dimensional fashion, so they just mimic, and don't realize how it'll actually "look" until they have that 2D perspective.

@@HereticDuo Yep, it all started to go downhill with DS9 and don't get me wrong, I liked DP9, it was my second-best Star Trek after TNG but it felt like it was losing a lot of the vision of what made Star Trek different and it's been downhill ever since where action is the focus over good storytelling which is where TNG shined. It's ironic but for me, many of the best TNG episodes didn't even have any action in them and many of which were supposed to be filler episodes, now it's just relentless action with special FX all over the place and very little story telling. Star Trek today is Star Trek in name only, but it might as well be called something else because the vision that made Star Trek great is gone and it's ironic how that vision started to change when Gene Roddenberry died, TNG went on after that because they kept that vision but the moment the TNG movies started, it all went downhill and the same for other Star Trek series.

@randomguy8196 Frankly the Q Civil War is an interesting question about an omnipotent eternal species having a mass existential crisis after one of them decides that eternity (and an eternity of monotony) ain't all it's cracked up to be, which does seem to be something that could happen. Also it continues Q's character arc from here. Here Q decides to behave himself, which Quinn found to be a disappointment as it was Quinn being a bit of an iconoclast himself that made Q the trickster god he was introduced as, only for this episode to put him in a box the continuum was comfortable with. Quinn's death made Q realize he lost his edge. Whether that damages the mystery of the omnipotent beings is a matter of perspective.

Q is essentially omnipotent. But Q is certainly not omniscient. He can be surprised, sometimes. Entertained. Even manipulated or outsmarted. It's probably the main reason he's fascinated by humans in general and by Picard in specific.

It's kinda weird that the Q are capable of taking powers away from each other like they did in this episode, if it's so easy for them to do that to each other then why was their Civil War that took place in Voyager so brutal? You would think that members of either side of the Civil War would've just got the jump over the other side and just take all their powers away and simply banish them like they did with Q in this episode.
