I think Glad missed the part where Dershowitz said it’s his ETHICAL OBLIGATION to keep representing a client that goes broke. As in: an actual attorney ethics rule. You can’t just withdraw from a case for nonpayment. You have to petition the judge. It will depend on the circumstances: if he can pay but won’t…or went broke gambling the night before etc. you can probably get out. But if he went broke after paying *you* the attorney millions…probably not happening.
