I just recently found out about this scene. My family were the bikers cousins... neighbors ... uncles.. and my dad.. hes the long hair biker in the black shirt.. they used his bike for "CECIL'S" bike so he had to stand around.. Wish I could find the movie with this scene included. Ive read that the TV version that air in the 80s 90s kept this scene in..Pops would love it.

It is popular everywhere. Kevin Costner once mentioned on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno that he thought it was his best movie, but was surprised that so few had seen it. .. It is, a true cult classic, like Repo Man and Highlander.

A friend of mine once owned a few acres out in the Davis Mountains. He loved it, had a shack with a solar panel. He got engaged and took his fiancee out there. She got out of the truck, looked around and started crying. There is nothing out there - nothing. It freaked her out. You ca drive 80 mph for an hour and not see another car. This movie really shows the emptiness well.

This scene and another when they were at a swimming hole were later deleted, but why? They were in the first copy of the movie that I had and then they were gone. Crazy. I’ve always tried to find the original version but I can’t.

do a search on ebay for "UNE BRINGUE D'ENFER". it is the French dvd of Fandango. it is region 2 and has audio in English so you can watch it like normal. should be what you need.

I'm guessing this scene was after the parachute jump, because Judd Nelson has newly found bravery in him, and because of the booze. I think it's a great scene and have no idea why it was cut, especially since it's kicking off Elton John's "Saturday Nights All Right for Fighting.

John G. Hill no this was before the skydiving scene. Notice the car has the original front clip on it still. So it's before the train scene too

This scene was early in the movie. There was another scene where they were at a central Texas swimming hole and they were run off the pro by the woman owner. Costner said he could see right up her dress. I don’t know why either scene was deleted and I wish I could find an original which I used to own on VHS.

The edited for tv version is the better one, because they left out the part where they stick their naked derrieres out the car window as they pass a truck driver. That scene seemed to add nothing to the story. Lyrics : "we got a .. Christmas .. con voy.. "
