I would say the price/size of the bundle is going to depend on what folks in your area feel about it. Understanding almost every one there now has tons of fallen trees from the last 2 yrs of storms, there may not be much of a market for it this year. Only way to know is try it like you have it now. If it sells fast, then likely you'll want to reduce the size or increase the cost. I'm sure you already know this, tho, cuz you're a smart guy.
@TKCL3 ай бұрын

Just my thoughts, but I’d raise the price before reducing the quantity. People love quantity. I think that’s why restaurants have gotten to the portions they have. If someone can take half of the meal home, they’ll justify a much larger price tag. It’s probably better for you to charge $1 more, than remove 2 chunks of wood. And I think people will value that bundle more. They’ll say something to their friends like, “I paid $1-$2 less than Lowe’s, and got 2 fires worth of wood!” A dollar or two in price isn’t noticeable, but double the wood is noticeable. If you can be anything less than the big box stores, but more wood, I think you’re ahead. Anyway, just my thoughts. Great video as always!

Locally a smaller bundle is $7-10. I'll be honest, when the kids want a fire in the pit for a marshmallow roast several times during the summer and fall, the cost of the wood does make me pause. If I could get a larger bundle for less money, it would certainly allow me to think less about it, and probably even spend more money over time. When it comes to the psychology of sales, if it is under that price point where you don't even think about it, you are more likely to make a frictionless impulse buy. I'd almost bet that you are making more profit per bundle with direct to consumer, than they outfit selling to the local retailer. Not to mention all the other headaches of selling to a retailer: transport, special packaging and labeling, accounting and administrative costs, and pressure of making sure to are fulfilling the contract. Remember, the best sell is the one where both sides think they are getting a good value.
