Great video, Alex. One more tip I would recommend is not taking a step before a kick. Lot's of beginners and intermediates in sparring do that.
@AlexWongTKD7 жыл бұрын
That's another good one as well! And thank you!

That's an amzing tip. But they train to shuffle or skip step before kicks

How do you attack and counter at the same time?? That sounds like incredible. Lol also, I think the best way to not telegraph is to not skip before kicking. Also isn't a roundhouse kick by definition telegraphed. Because its rounded??

@vinicastro92927 жыл бұрын
Im 168cm and lot of people on my gym are taller than me. What I do is focus on keeping my kicking distance, which will be shorter than their kick distance, so it will be difficult for them to kick. Another thing is, if you can't get close to them because they always fall back and kick you, you have to faint an attack, wait for them to kick you and you clinch while they kick you, you unclinch and hit back.

Hi Alex .. I am 45 a green belt I started a TKD a year and half ago. The one bad thing I have not been able to master is the stretching in order to make the head kicks. What stretches can I do that doesn't feel like I'm killing myself? Thank you 😁
@AlexWongTKD7 жыл бұрын
Haha these stretches I did with Donavan are pretty good you can try some of these: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iZCXi5mOpaaln6M

Alex lee I just tested for 1st degree and did fine. I did a whole lot of unnecessary worrying. Just act natural. Just like you would in class. Good Luck. :)

Thank you both for the advice. At my school the black belt test is 3 days long and fighting is a day all by its self. I have not picked my dates yet because I separated my shoulder a couple of weeks ago while fighting but hopefully will gets to pick my dates here soon.
