General Zod had been banished to the Phantom Zone for his crimes against Krypton, but he was determined to rebuild his race and restore their dominance. He believed that the key to this was the Codex, a genetic database that contained the DNA of every Kryptonian. Zod knew that the Codex had been hidden on Earth, along with the last surviving Kryptonian, Superman. He and his loyal soldiers set out to find the Codex and use it to rebuild their society. The search for the Codex was difficult, but Zod was relentless. He and his soldiers combed the planet, searching for any clues to its location. They left a trail of destruction in their wake, with no regard for the lives of those in their path.

The only difference between Superman and other kryptonians is that he’s stayed on earth longer, hence he’s stronger. If any of then sun dipped for even a few moments, they would obliterate Superman (as long as they stop him from also doing so)

Yep, also he had a lifetime on Earth to get used to his powers, and in some cases, he's either a descendant of the Kryptonian God Rao or an Embodiment of Hope that Rao made when he made a deal with Despair of the Endless. So compared to other Kryptonians, he has better developed solar reserves, better power training, and there were cosmic beings pulling strings along to get him where he is. If you remove solar powers, Supes can probably beat other Kryptonians too, he has decades of fighting experience and was trained by Wildcat, Batman, and Wonder Woman. There's a reason Zod made him a General during the New Krypton arc.
