I own multiple 2018 and newer stakebed diesels for my business and now I need to get them inspected every 6 months! It’s insanity! Doesn't winter blend add kerosene, in attemp to prevent fuel gelling and resulting roadside breakdown? I use additives to prevent that among other things like adding cetane, for cleaner burn, and lubricity for pumps and injectors..

@paulhafner9781 The only thing I can say about Colorado's oxygenated winter blend gasoline is that in all of the vehicles I've owned in the last 20 years, I have seen a decrease of 2 to 3mpg. If I'm burning more gasoline how is this better for the environment? My mileage improves by that same amount as soon as the summer blend hits. Costs more and you use more. Sounds like some feel good BS to me.

@douglashook1512 I was thinking diesel. Gasoline doesn't jell up. You are spot on that putting ethanol(oxygenation) kills as you said at least 2-3mpg over straight gasoline because alcohol produces much less energy(BTU)per gallon than straight gas. It is also very hard on fuelsystems drawing water from the air and corroding passages to point of blockage in all gasoline systems. This is why I always add "Startron" enzyme additive and fuel stabilizer at each fill up of gas on my gas fed vehicles. As far as I know Startron is the only additive that can reverses some of damage.

I agree with what you say, it makes since, I've had a hatred for the EPA (and other 3 letters) for a long time, how ever another KZbin, The Diesel Podcast has a lawyer that says it's is still law and that deleting a diesel is still illegal and is subject to said law. So where does that leave us and will it come around and bite us in the ass later on under the next administration. @@alantrimble2881 Remember when MTBE was added to gasoline. It can now be found in the most remote mountain streams. DEF being added to diesels is not a great thing. Burning 1/5 of a gallon of diesel for every mile is not a great thing. Many of the CARB rules are not well thought out and are pushed by the ill informed.

My grandfather is a federal worker...at least for him, the email said even if he takes the 7 month paid resignation offer, he has to work those 7 months...he does not get paid to do nothing, but he would get to stay remote for those 7 months, other than that he would have to go back to the office. He lives over an hour away and is halfway blind so I think he might be able to get a medical exemption to work from home.

Do you think that the big three auto makers will not have this crap on their trucks going forward ?from the factory or you’re gonna have to delete it yourself ? if they come from the factory with that crap on it, wouldn’t the auto manufacturers save a lot of money, not having all these emissions on it from the factory and then passing the saving s onto the customer because the cost these parts can run into at least $15,000 if not more also for fleet trucking companies that would save them a fortune and make their profit margin go up much more, which is a good thing thank you for making another great video. Well congress is not the enforcement. The judicial branch does that. So yes if congress passes a law then the police will enforce it

Negative you’re wrong. The enforcement arm is the executive branch. Although the judicial branch does, which is by the way, the Supreme Court only as far as the constitution goes in, Congress created the federal courts. All they do is handle disputes between states and render decisions that are within their purview. In federal matters, that’s it that’s all they’re supposed to do. But the executive branch is the enforcement arm of the federal government. That’s why the Department of justice and all thepolicing/intelligence agencies are under the executive branch.

Sorry but we do need the EPA to regulate for clean air. There are places that I can’t go to because of the crap in the air . It has literally put me in the hospital. It’s not just one item , it’s the sum of all the things together that can cause a lot of problems for people. You can still build a fast car that can pass emissions tests. My mother had a VERY nice, low-miles 2012 Volvo SC90. It started running like crap and it was determined that 3 of the 4 catalytic converters (yes, FOUR!!) were clogged. This is a vehicle with only 56k miles. CARB rules say you cannot use any replacement cats without the CARB stamp, which as we all know, is just a complete and total scam-- the exact same cat manufactured at the same place and purchased in TX is at least 1/3 the cost of the identical cat purchased in CA. The cost of repairing my mom's car was prohibitive, the repair cost exceeded the value of the car so she basically sold it for parts and had to buy a new car. This is my mother, living alone on a fixed income. CARB are government gangsters, period.

EPA is 100% necessary, without them we would have ruined this beautiful country. We can't have pollution like in Asia, India, and other countries that have ruined their lakes, rivers, land, and shores with toxic chemicals. Do you really want to see that. in the past, and here in the USA before EPA existed there were rivers that were on fire beacause of dumping waste chemicals There are many rules that are in need of change especially for diesel vehicles in the service industry.

I think everyone agrees that the environment needs to be protected. However, those who put these laws and regulations in place were not considering the big picture. While modern emissions equipment can arguably help reduce bad stuff coming out of a tailpipe, we have to look at what the total cost is. Did they consider the devastating impacts of strip mining operations to get the rare earth metals used in catalytic converters and DPFs? Did they consider the carbon footprint that results from manufacture of hundreds of millions of plastic jugs to contain DEF? Did they consider the amount of diesel fuel that would need to be burned to distribute those hundreds of millions of jugs of DEF across the country? Did they consider the space in our landfills that all of these jugs would take up? No doubt, the EPA has done a lot of good, but I think these particular rules are causing a lot more environmental, harm than they are preventing. I really need Elon or Lee Zeldin to crunch these numbers for us.
