i think you'll find that the long strips are the strips used to join the leg and arm pieces together, because the leg and arm pieces don't overlap but butt together with the strip going up the join

Hey Ace, just wanted to let you know that your videos are really nice to watch and I also like the fact that you really do in-depth reviews of the kits etc. (Pro's and con's) and give your opinion on them. To keep it short: keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to the next video.

Hi there Ace! I love the magnet trick! Very useful. I figure I owe you one :) I found a real good way to get the front of the helmet lined up. I put the rubber seal on the top and measured, cut and centered and lined it up and then marked it on the front mask. Took seal off the top and glued it to the front mask on my marked line. Then it just went right back on and helped a lot to hold in place while I finished the side pieces. Thanks for the great videos! Keep it up!

Me and my brother-in-law have been building 2 sets of TKUK armour over the last few weeks, the owner has been really helpful with sending spare cover strips and throwing in extras (like neck seals, holsters, etc) when we bought the body gloves from him. A dremel is a must for getting these kits to size, just spent 2 hours working over the entire armour for a charity event we are doing next Saturday. Have to admit though the helmet was a difficult build considering one of us is an engineer by trade that says a lot!

Very nice job! The helmet is always the most challenging part. I've assembled close to 50 tk helmets and still find them a challenge, esp the getting the ears on with minimal gap to the helmet sides. You did well! :)

Very nicely put together video. Nice to see an impartial review of the kit. :-) With respect, there are a few areas of this kit, in terms of the moulds themselves as well as the construction method, that fall a bit short of screen accurate. No problem if screen accuracy is not top of the agenda. :-) Great channel, Ace. Very entertaining. :-)

Venom1303 I found large U shaped wall hooks on ebay. My ones are actually screwed in backwards as one side of the U is taller than the other and the helmets need that extra space to hang properly. All hooks are padded out with foam too to stop the helmets from wobbling

If I were to ever get a set of this armour, or to try and make something similar I'd have to make the armour thicker. It really gets under my skin seeing how thin and flimsy the plates are is it just draws away from the effect. No idea how I'd do it but I guess I'll find out.
@cableguydan6 жыл бұрын
Elder Maxson the originals were thin. With nicely constructed armour, like the originals, it looks fine when worn. 😁

Hello my name is Kevin green field and I love storm troopers, you see the main helmet you know about the 2 areactors on eBay you can buy the screw on one's because that's where I got mine from and when you drill 2 holes on the helmet then you put the areators on and you see inside of your storm trooper helmet and then you put the screw on the back that way it won't move about it fits in there really well so that is why by one eBay because you know the ones you get you just glue on there but they also fall off plus I have the screw on one's and they are amazing.

This armour set has to be modded extensively to be 501st approved. If you want to join the 501st leave it be, and buy something else.
@tomasvins39507 жыл бұрын
Not true. This armour can be approved without any problem.
@nicholairisvang7 жыл бұрын
if you are a member of the 501st, you will know that this is up to the local GML. TKUK is, by many, regarded as a recaster. Many GML´s will not approve this armour. Some might.. but to say that the armour is approved by the 501st is not true
@nicholairisvang7 жыл бұрын
if you want to build a TK armour kit, I would recomend going to Whitearmor.com, and check out their "vetted maker" list. here you will find makers that, build correctly, will get approved in the 501st. If a webpage claims that their gear is approved by the 501st... stay clear.
@tomasvins39507 жыл бұрын
I know many people with approved TKUK armour (including me) although TKUK is not on that list. What I am only trying to say is that it's good and affordable armour for that price and with a little piece of work you can get complete suit approved by 501st like Ace mentioned in the video :)
@nicholairisvang7 жыл бұрын
Right Tomas, that is true. You might get it approved. And yes the price is very good. But you might allso get a no, from your local GML.. and then it is not a good cheap alternative. That is why i suggest to get another armour... or at least check with your local GML if they might approve it..... before buying
