the face thing.. my guess is that actually she was telling you that you (Martina) are really pretty because it is known that if your face is symmetrical is more beautiful, hence more "even" (symmetrical) the prettier you are... so You are pretty and she is not xD that's my guess

I think that Korean was maybe referring to Korean phrase 얼굴이 반반하다. It normally means that 'you got a beautiful face' but since 반 also means 'half', it could be translated as 'you got a face with equal even halves.' It's a little of a stretch here but I think only way I can think why Korean teacher emphasized evenness of faces so much times.

3:57 Omg this is so funny and iteresting! Here in Brazil we do this hand gesture when something bad happens/is about to happen. We only do this with friends, at least I don't feel confortable doing this in front of people that I don't know very well. Example: You take an F on a test. *Does the sign*. Note: It is kinda vulgar to do this sing if you aren't talking to a close person. It's funny how different some cultures can be, and I love to learn more about these things! ♥

Oh, my goodness! I was laughing so hard that I sounded like I was sobbing… and not just ordinary sobbing, but sobbing inconsolably! About the uneven face comment: As far as I know, it's pretty common throughout all Asian cultures to compliment others by belittling one's self. Actually, girls in the west do it a lot too, so it shouldn't be an alien concept. I think part of why your wedding ring didn't convince the old man is because in South Korea (and Japan), trendy young women seem to like wearing rings on their lefthand ring finger when they're not married.

Oh well I am pretty sure she was talking about face proportions when she said her face is uneven. In Korea, it's considered very lucky to have an 'even' or 'proportional' face, where everything simply... looks right, i guess? It's like, your nose doesn't override everything because it's so huge, or your lips aren't too wide or too small, your eyes aren't too far apart and etc. It's very symmetrical, is kind of the gist. It's just a very nice face, really. Having an uneven face basically means it's un-proportionate ratios and such.... XD LOL. I'm almost totally sure that's what she meant, so basically what she was trying to say was that you have a very beautiful face. In korean, telling someone they have a proportional face is simply a compliment on how nice each feature compliments the others.

I think the VP probably meant that you dont have a flat face? Like you have high nose bridge/cheekbones?? I think Asians prefer faces like this since they look more 3D and tend to have a better side profile but we Asians often tend to have a flatter face compared to Westerners

Roaming randomly on KZbin, I discovered your videos. I thought Simon was gay, and surprised to find you are a married couple. I thought about it, and I consider gays generally friendly.
