the thumbs down are the haters who probably didn't even research him and what he did to break down the barriers between white folks then and black music. He put an injection into the black music and didn't care what the white folks thought then. Sadly just like then there is still ignorant people and also jealousies through false accusation easily injected someone's hatred and poisonous thoughts towards this man. if you a non Elvis fan but other singers, groups, whatever, just always remember he was the one that pave the way for all the different music that we love and enjoy today. he was the inspiration, and the starter of believe in yourself. He said there is a room for everyone in music. So hate or thumbs down all you like Elvis lives on. The Echo will never die. Good, kind hearted, humantarian men or women are never forgotten. Elvis he brought happiness to the heart of little, young and old generations to date.

Fearless, peerless young Elvis. 1956 must have been like a dream after all his years of struggle. He was only 21 years old and nothing seemed beyond his reach. Yet he managed to remain so cool, rooted and humble.

His mother was really bothered by it and would have panic attacks and as result turned to drinking which eventually killed her. At one point she wanted Elvis to quit and "go back to how things use to be". She was a woman with a lot of mental issues in my opinion. When she died Elvis was destroyed and he never recovered which in my opinion eventually killed him. What ever she did with him wasn't normal nor how she reacted to his success.

It is difficult to place oneself in an era in which one's parents were but young grade schoolers. My parents would have been about 8 or 9 years old when this was filmed. Yet I find myself intrigued with Elvis, where he came from, and what he became. To see a man on stage just dancing around a bit and shaking his leg is very mild. But I guess in 1956 it was risqué. At least they say it was so. At any rate, this man created Rock-n-Roll Music as it were. I am proud to know that it was borne out of the Deep South. Elvis was as Southern as it gets. He could have taken Europe by storm as did the Beatles in the US. But Elvis will forever belong to the history of a great country that internally many try in vain to destroy.

Can't believe how good his voice was same as the record considering the lack of equipment they had back then

James Adcock, they didn't have to use anything to improve his voice!

The recording studios back then didn't really employ many tricks, a bit of echo possibly. Unfortunately the sound here has been pulled from the tinny sounding P.A system, they had amps on stage but it was also fed through the big pa system that was meant for announcements, not good for music

Adrina The Great it’s all they had back in the day! It was great sound then! Fifty years from now they will be saying how bad the sound it back then! Which is nown
@adrinathegreat30955 жыл бұрын
@@jeanmarcks6269 yes for recording a live outside broadcast for 50s T.V. But sound recordings done in the studio dont sound much different now to then. Back then it was more realistic, closer to what they sounded like live, today it's so multi layered, overdubbbed and processed, bands sound nothing like their studio recordings, most resort to spending more time on theatrics, smoke, lighting, explosions etc, it's almost like going to a theatre to watch a musical than watching a band play, they are all lost on stage amongst dozens of dancers, smoke billowing up from the stage, lasers criss crossing the stage and huge tv screens, often showing other concert footage and animations. Sometimes its make you wonder if the live bands today even need to bother showing up. I guess people come to see them in a show, not really bothered by the music, just the atmosphere. But I guess that's what people want and therefore that's what they are fed

@@adrinathegreat3095 Yes. Most likely a 100 watt solid state Bogen 3 channel PA head and a pair of large stand mounted horns or "trumpets" as they were called. The solid state [no tubes] Bogen was state of the art at that time.

We all have regrets in life, some big some small some in between. One of the big ones in my life was never seeing Elvis perform live. I think about that fact every time I hear him sing. So if I had a time machine, going back and seeing a show of his would be number one.
