THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!! In high school in Texarkana Texas, 1975-76 grad, me and 2 of my buddies LOVED THIS SONG. When the sun went down you could pick several am radio stations From across the country. WLS out of Chicago. There was a soul music station from Memphis and the station from New Orleans. I believe it was WNOE? Well the 3 of us was walking around saying A-LA BA and nobody knew what we were talking about!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣! We didn't either but it sounded SO COOL. Great memories of me and my high school friends from wayyyyyyyyyy back in the day!

My daughter wore a tee shirt today to camp that my sister got in 1983 that says, "I saw the white tiger today at the Audubon Zoo.' Remember how big a deal that was? Just before the World's Fair? Y'all remember that? Most of y'all probably don't even say y'all. Wonderful band. Wonderful song.

This was a big regional hit for The Meters when I lived in New Orleans. Little kids *love* it!

RIP Art and Charles. Met the brothers while they were staying in a hotel where I was working - back in the 80's - wonderful memory - a privilege and a pleasure to spend a half hour in conversation with them.

Axed for you is correct. And MISSISSIPPI SAXAPHONE is slang for blues harmonica. Mardi Gras will be fairly soon. Laissez les bon temps roulez (or rouler). French is only my second language.

@redj1101 Жыл бұрын
“Eh, là-bas” literally means “Hey, over there.” It’s the title and refrain of a traditional creole song
