The girl said she doesn't like doing pageants so her mom shouldn't be making her do them. The mom is trying to live her childhood through her daughter. Also, the mom shouldn't be saying that the daughter has ADHD when she hasn't taken her to a doctor.

Exactly. Why is she "undiagnosed"? A child should not be forced into unnecessary activities they don't like. I had all three of girls try dance, gymnastics, Tae Kwon Do, and musical instruments. They each liked some and disliked some. I accepted that.

It’s not exactly what you think. There isn’t any excuse for some of these actions. However….This lady had another child, during the late 80’s -90’s. Her first child was also in pageants but absolutely loved them, was very well behaved and worked very hard. The mom was kind of a spaz then too but you can tell she really is a good mom. The child died from cystic fibrosis at age 14. She dealt with the constant medical attention the child needed only to lose her. I’m certain it influenced the way she is raising her other daughter now. They were actually part of another documentary on a and e in about 1997-8? Here is the link to part 1 kzbin.info/www/bejne/pKjEiHZ8atGgpqs. She died very soon after the a and e documentary.

well, tbh I hated most of my ADHD meds when I was little. they suck when it's trial and error. some made me feel way worse, I ended up trying to cope for a looong time without meds and learnt self discipline, until close to highschool and college. I can see why parents are weary of the meds. doctors love to throw pill after pill onto people, and if you can naturally handle it without, it's probably the healthiest. but if you're really suffering and don't have proper guidance on how to go about it without meds, then it may be best just to do the meds.

@@milesmorgan7938 exactly! There may be a VERY few instances (i only saw 2 in 15 years and they also had other sever mental health issues on top of it) it could be helpful but as an RN and mother of 8 it is usually what parents say just because their child isnt behaving. I tried it with our oldest because we felt guilted into it but after a few months decided against it. Also later in life he ended up addicted to any kind of stimulant and getting arrested for it. I have it severely (see a psychiatrist and counselor for it) but learned to use it to my advantage. My 5th child has it but we are teaching him to learn how to make it work for him. Neither child misbehaved. Just had a really hard time focusing and not figiting. Bad behavior is learned not caused by adhd. Some kids might have a harder time sitting still but being rude and disrespectful is not a symptom of adhd. A LOT of parents just dont want to deal with their kid and teach them how to deal with it.

@@milesmorgan7938 some kids do better with meds. Every kid is different. A friend’s daughter started doing poorly in school in high school. She had never slept well and couldn’t concentrate. My daughter has ADHD, and after many forms of intervention (none which worked) and many, MANY papers of documentation I decided she needed medication. It's a very difficult decision, but it takes the edge off her and she has begun maturing socially and catching up with her peers, and her focus is so much better now! She's on a non stimulant so her weight doesn't drop after Adderall caused a plateau for weight gain and then a dip (she's already skinny). I'm a strong advocate for early intervention, it makes me sad reading stories where people could have thrived with help in their youth but now struggle as adults because of lack of care years ago. 😢

Theses "pageants" where little girls are styled to look like adults, attract the wrong kind of viewers, and I am so glad we don't have anything like that here in Germany. Plus, why force a kid (a hyperactive kid, at that) to participate, even though she does not even seem to like it all that much? And why expose these little girls to the frustration and disappointment that comes with not being the one that some random jury did not consider to be the prettiest? Rather teach them that beauty is NOT the most important thing in life.

I don't think that was undiagnosed ADHD, nor particularly bad behaviour, it was just Cassidy being a cheeky 7 year old child, as she should've been. Also, Cassidy didn't really seem interested to begin with.

Anyone else hear @4:30 she says “oh she’s doing…awful” like wtf dude that’s your daughter. I don’t have any girls and only have my son (as of now) but I’d never say some nasty mess like this especially about MY OWN CHILD who is only looking for the love and approval of her overbearing underachieved mother. I feel like these pageants should only be done if the little girls wanna dress up and feel like princesses and feel beautiful and then at the end not pick 1 huge winner but pick multiple winners for different things like “biggest smile” or “craziest dress” so no one feels disappointed or left out idk they should just do stuff like that instead of deciding who is the most beautiful out of a bunch of under 12 year olds. ://

I think If she had ADHD There is no way that she would do something that she didn’t enjoy whether her mum told it to or not. People with ADHD seriously struggle to maintain their attention to something that they neither like nor enjoy. I actually believe that child beauty pageants should be banned. Especially the swimwear kind. It’s a haven for paedophiles. I know for certain sure that I would not be letting my daughters dress like that at such a young age

These Mothers may want to refocus their energies inward towards Themselves and getting their own Bodies, Mind, Health, Spiritual,Careers,Lovelife, etc.back on track and just let their Kids be normal Kids. Go to school and join teams etc..This beauty pageant stuff seems really dysfunctional and unhealthy for the development of children.
