Some mom's feel a sense of guilt or loss when they realize that the man they thought they knew was actually a projected image of the boy that she raised. It can be hard for smothers to grasp that all the years of manipulation could be being undone . "I thought he'd be mine forever" mentality. Rejoice! You've raised a good man. Whether that's a product of your raising him or a product of him choosing not to be the person his parents were, he's a good egg. Now you get to relax and watch him enjoy fatherhood. Some grandparents steal the joy of parenting away from their children because they are selfish and want things their way.

Not many men enmeshed with mommy are good husbands. The nicest guys but manipulated their whole lives. Passive unusually and make his wife deal with the mother in laws. There are fen zero boundaries in his family. If the entire family ,y is enmeshed, they send sibling proxies, so daughters in law get in on it too. It’s hard if mother is doing that, but if the unmarried daughters who Aldi think and act like they should still be having him sacrifice and go around his wife as if he weren’t married, is enraging if he’s passive. Be sure he’s fully emancipated from the family of origin and his loyalty will lie with you first, and even second and third. They aren’t entitled to invade the first circle of intimacy in his life no matter what his family is implying and guilting him into. If the mother has a disable husband or she’s a widow when you marry, this can be very intense.

You Americans seem to have a dysfunctional idea of how parent/adult child relationships should or shouldn't be. Is it the christofascism? Or maybe it's the treating people as if they're kids up until they're 21? A combination maybe. That's not normal for the rest of the world. It's baffling. And I hope your culture NEVER spreads to our shores in that way. I don't have a great relationship with my parents, but I know damn well that I am the arbiter of my life (as much as is allowed under capitalism), and my mother doesn't get to make choices about my life. The infantilisation of American 18-21 year olds is fucked up. Old enough to be killed in a foreign country because it has oil that America wants, but not old enough to buy alcohol? Absurd. It's Jason & Justina's wedding. NOT Jason's Mom's wedding. This will be a day that Jason & Justina will treasure and always remember for the rest of their lives. If they want to plan a summer camp wedding, then Jason's Mom needs to accept their choice, and back off. It's NOT all about her. Wishing Jason & Justina a very happy life together. ❤

Her tears are sooo manipulative! She didn't get her way so she cried like a baby. Later on she has the nerve to say that Justina's being unreasonable! No lady- the only unreasonable one is YOU! Then she whines about being left out with 🤦♀️ ZERO comprehension as to why they're leaving her out. She constantly says "I feel...I feel...I feel" as if it's all about her. It's not a summer camp wedding, it's a wedding at an outdoor venue. Huge difference. The only 2 people standing at the altar and getting married are the bride and groom. It's THEIR wedding! I'm so glad to finally see a son who actually stands up to his mother and backs up his partner. These are the kind of couples that I want to see more of and root for.

Getting the toy isn't the problem. It's undermining the rules that her son and daughter in law are placing to try to instill good habits for the future. I mean she could maybe wait to buy whatever it is and give it to her another time. Although kids that age cha ge their minds 100 times a day so she probably won't even remember she wanted something. I think mediation between the three of them is a good way to stay unbiased while also holding all of them accountable for what's happening. With that being said...I really wanna go to a toy store now. 😂
