Some may find Brand annoying, maybe because he appears to always "be on," but I find his ability to create complex imagery on the run fascinating. Maybe some people are just too up tight, stupid, or lacking in imagination to enjoy him.

Re Allison Williams' comment about her top: What?? No one connected to the show or in the audience knows what "baleen" is?? Certain species of whales use baleen to filter food from the water. Often mistakenly called "whale bone", it was used for all manner of things we now use plastics for, especially for the stays (or ribs) in women's corsets.

You can't assume that something that's seems like common knowledge to you will be to others. And even if people in the audience did know, they're not exactly going to speak up.Though, personally, I thought the term "baleen whale" would be known to Fergie.

Doctor Thaddeus Bodog Sivana True, what is "common knowledge" to one generation may be arcane to another. I think my age may be showing; I've got about 7 years on Craig, and I suspect I'm not exactly in his "target demographic". It's also quite possible that he, Michael and others knew very well what baleen is, but where's the fun in that? One can spoil the "funny" by being a "smarty pants", and I think I forget that too often. Cheers!

This is a little late but I prefer whole videos with it being dissected in the info because this way you get the best of both worlds because you can skip whatever part you find irrelevant or to the one guest/segment you are searching for.

He said an ideal guest is someone who remembers to talk and not just plug their [project] and people who just know how to play - those are the people who come off best. Russell Brand fits both.
