I just want to compliment your tasteful paint jobs. Seems like flames and decal overload are the standard in the RC world and it’s refreshing to see someone let the body shape come through, especially this one. About to build one of these, with the HW 4268 G3 motor but with the SCT ESC (the new Pro is nowhere to be found and it sounds like the SCT is great). So excited!

The motor, esc, and battery are the best for sure, but the best servos are made by ko propo. Quality control makes their gears the smoothest and Smallest gap between gears, giving faster response time. Build quality is just on another level and performance is there. Steering feels more natural compared to my brushless mks.

@@TheRCNetwork I don't have a mayako buggy,but what I mean by best is I'm not referring to fit and finish or any of the normal type of comparison,I mean you will get your best result on race day with the black edition hang on there is a catch you have to know what you are doing first. eg: if you normally finish towards the back of the b final with the BE you will bump to the big show. If you normally finish in the D final you will probably stay in the D final. You are correct I think there are no more BE so Mayako it is,where there are no special people getting better deals then you, just racers all together.

@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 3 жыл бұрын
I'd pick the Tekno. It's a better driving/building/repairing buggy over the others. The TLR is a close second in driving, but the motor mount and missing steps in the manual drop it down to the AE level. I wouldn't consider the B3.2 even on the running, tbh

@@TheRCNetwork thank you again for the excellent well presented reviews. I can't help to ask is there any change in the status of TLR in your mind if he fixed the missed steps in the manual and the different ways of mounting the motor. I just found the materials and the craftsmanship in the LTR is awesome. I am kind of tht guy who like to look at the car inside to just appreciate the detail and craftsmanship. Does it make sense to you? I agreed with you that the motor mounting would be cumbersome during maintenance. But it looks very good at a still perspective.

I'd find someone that's actually making the body first....as I haven't seen that body available. you'll most likely end up with a 1/10th scale though, as they have the most bodies available - they sell their bodies chassis based on width, either 190mm or 200mm....you can do either with an electric 1/10th scale chassis, just by altering the wheel offset.

Hello there. Just new to the racing side of things. If it's ok I'd like some truthful advice on your thoughts and preferred race spec 1/8 buggy and truggy. @herec0mestr0ble
@herec0mestr0ble 3 жыл бұрын
I don’t have time to write a book but basically it’s just a higher voltage cell. 4.35v per cell fully charged. But we still treat them like 4.20v per cell. Less chance of running too low, and it never gets fully charged. Hence a lot safer in many ways. The cells never get fully stressed.
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 3 жыл бұрын
As others have said, LiHV lipos can do one of two things.....Charge up to 4.35v/cell (most of them.....some differ slightly) as a competitive edge, where allowed, or they can be charged as a normal Lipo to 4.2v/cell with some breathing room to keep the Lipo trouble free. Some experts say that all Lipos are actually LiHV, and this is all just marketing....but I'll play by the rules set my the manufacturers. Also, you do need a Charger that's capable of charging to 4.35v/cell

@@TheRCNetwork and they would be?
@TheRCNetwork
@TheRCNetwork 3 жыл бұрын
@@harlyquin Universal driveshafts excel in rough conditions and can generate additional side bite by providing additional roll in the corners. The suspension is allowed to work more efficiently when compared to the additional mechanical binding in CVA’s. This allows the vehicle to absorb bumps better with a reduced risk of “catching a rut” and flipping the car while cornering. For smoother tracks, CVA’s will produce more forward traction and support, but universals are also well suited with slight suspension setup changes (springs and oil). The basic design of a universal driveshaft means virtually no maintenance is required and dirt and dust won’t foul the operation of the joint. - I didn’t write this but fully agree 😃👍
@harlyquin
@harlyquin 3 жыл бұрын
@@TheRCNetwork ok i totally understand the last part but the part where drive shafts can generate additional side bite is way over my pay grade, i was thinking that was a job mainly taken on by the tyres, all i know is what happened with my car, that is the uni's were binding at a decent angle and the problem went away when i installed CVD's

@@TheRCNetwork I thinks because it's a european brand. I live in Belgium and here you a lot of x-ray cars. I drive a tekno eb 48.4 but i want the 2.0 version and I also drive a hotbodies d8t brushless conversion but it's so hard to find the right parts so I'm gonna replace the hb for a tekno et 2.0 when it's coming to europe. Best car I've had so far, just put an alu servo horn on it and it's already a beast out of the box 😁

@@TheRCNetwork thx for an answer. Yes thats strange, maybe they can't manage to make enough cars. They sell very good here in europe. I live in Norway and brands like Losi, Team Assosiated, the US brands are smaller here. You gone love Xray, the quality is ' Luxus ' as they claim 🙂

Hello Harry. Im also looking at the Tekno. But there is no shops here in Norway that have the Tekno brand. Tekno looks good!

yeah, Xray is based in Europe....but they do have RCAmerica as their distributor here in the states...but I still don't see much for Xray here. I've always heard great things though

I think Losi is the best racing 1/8 buggy ''IMO'' because they all ready have a cutout for a slipper clutch on the e buggy that lets you know that their minds are all about racing, but imagine if every body thought that same way, and their was nothing but TLR's on every track that would be a very boring race and I would not want to race if I just wanted to race. I learned with a slash then got a Mugen that I raced for a while back in 2012 my buddy had a Losi and he would bet me all to hell, but when we switched buggy's he would still beat me, so its mostly the driver, I have not had a buggy for 10 years got the bug again, but I am torn between the Losi and Tekno I think the Tekno has the better shocks, I have herd that the Losi wears out a little faster than other buggy's that's why I have not pulled the trigger on it yet if I was just racing that would not matter to me but I am older now and want to have fun and race occasionally

They do make a good presented product, in the box. It goes together well (except for the extra spacer that TLR has failed to update over 2-3 owners manuals..). I still prefer Tekno, IMO. They have a much more "grass roots" race team - that has attracted Maifield now, so it should be interesting. TLR (Horizon Hobby) really only has Phend now..and Pro-Line is a dying brand as well.

Tekno EB48 2.0 was my first (and only so far) kit build. As someone new the building a kit, it was helpful to have all the lengths of the turnbuckles, 1 to 1 of all the used screws, and other associated parts printed in the manual. Everything is laid out nicely and done in steps with all the parts for a step in a single bag. I also like their warranty and return policy for broken parts.

@@TheRCNetwork I would be interested in a video comparing the 1/8th buggies you have driven or just reading an article compaing the EB48 to the Elite. I am still waffling on getting the new ET48 2.0 or an 8ight-XTE. The scary part is getting both isn't out of the question.
