I grew up with this. It was a lot of fun when you had others in the neighborhood with them also. I raced mine against the Monster Beetle, the Lunch Box, and the Magic Pumpkin. The 80s gave me a pretty awesome childhood.

13:39 AFTTTTTEEEERRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!! Still looking so good in 2024. IMHO Monster Pickups are the ultimate RC cars cause they look SO GOOD and plus they have big sexy « bootyres » with huge suspension travel which is so pleasing to touch and watch working………. Let’s be honest, grabbing/squeezing big soft tires and suspensions is a very similar pleasure than grabbing my wife’s b……OK ok I calm down.

I must buy another one of these. My dad had one when I was a kid but gave it away to his mate after buying a Nikko SuperSprint 😞

The mechanical speed controller will eventually burn out, but who cares just put an upgraded and it’ll never burn out. Awesome find I would definitely buy that ❤👍👍😎

Wow, an electronic speed control with reverse! What will they think of next! Especially impressive that you've got the original stock steering linkages, arms, shocks and I assume gearbox config? Such a classic!

Amazing find!!!! A friend of my family had a Tamiya Blackfoot in the summer of 1989 and it was so quick that everyone who saw it said wow and/or that truck is fast!! I don't think we would have been impressed like that if it ran like this. Were their better motor options like a brushless in 1989/1990 to make this truck faster back then? I'd love to know what he could have done to make his Blackfoot so fast? I wish I could remember what he said he did to it? It was so long ago.

Just obtained a FW-190D. I found it to be very fast and reasonably stable. It was rather twitchy on aileron so I added a bit of 'up' to each aileron to give it some washout; which helped some. Also, I modified it to have rudder control. This is fairly easy to do by adding a wire bar between the split elevators and using one former elevator rod for the rudder pushrod.

It was a video on replacing the diff gear box because it was broken. Not removing the diff only. So i’m confused what you are saying. Everything has to be removed to get to the gear box

Can you tell me more about the receiver you used on this? Im just finishing a build of a 1990 - something my dad hoarded away and would never take out of the box and Im finally building it - but turns out finding the right battery, servos and reciever is a bit more difficult than I thought! Initially was going to try to adapt it to a new build style that only has one servo but Im not sure thats going to work - would much rather find the correct parts!

You really shouldnt tell people to charge thier lipos on nmhi that will start a fire 🔥!!!! Yes you can charge for a few minutes a lipo on the nimhi setting but never keave it alone and constantly check r heat
@theRCelement3 ай бұрын
@@davidhuffaker4559 Yeah I guess I should have went into more detail about using that method only to bring the battery back to a detectable voltage. For people new to the hobby or to that fix. I have used that method probably over 20 times over the years with great success. It really only takes a few minutes to get the voltage back up to about 3 volts per cell. Then I never ever leave. I keep a close eye on it. I usually only charge at like 1 amp to bring the voltage back up

thanks for this video, using the drag and hold technique on a completely different vehicle but it's still the easiest way. I guess the surface you drag across will determine how tight your slipper is

Nice video. I picked up the 35kg for my Granite, and with a Firma 150 ESC, and 7.4 volt BEC, the servo has plenty of power. I think the 35kg servo is pretty decent, but for $2 more you can get the Power Hobby 190MG servo which has the same torque, but the speed is immensely quicker (at 7.4 volt, I don't have any vehicles i run at 6 volt BEC) Also, for anyone that read reviews of the 35kg servo, where the guy says he had to tear down the servo to remove the overly tight o-ring in order to get full torque... That problem has been addressed by 2024 and you'll just waste your time tearing it down like i did. The torque is fine OTB, but I'd still recommend the Power Hobby if you're at all driving on the road, or the track, if speed is important, the power hobby servo is easily 75% faster at 7.4 volts)
