I am def technically challenged..I need 24" not sure if and how to accomplish that with this set. I do love all your tutorials..like the fact that you do not use a ton of filler words..ummm...ahhh...soooo..etc. the tutorials are informative, too the point, and your personality is just wonderful.. I think you would make a great voice over for movies!

I have finally dived in and bought the Denise set. What a great buy! I love the way they lock, much better than my Knitpicks and the slight point on the head of the hook makes it so easy to pick up stitches. I have had several surgeries on my right hand so any hook that makes it easier to keep up with my craft is most welcome. Thank you for your great reviews!

I was able to travel with one of these crochet hooks so I could work on a small project during my flight from Wisconsin to California. You are also right about the smoothness, also. It's smooth without being completely slippery.

For years, Denise was the only company that made interchangeable knitting needles. Back in the 1980s, I bought my first set and used them until they wore out completely. I bought another set 15 years later and used them until Knit Picks came out with their interchangeable wooden needles.

Hi Toni, Just brought the pastel set of the Denise interchangeable hooks. Not the big set that you have. I need to experiment with them. However I did take them through TSA this past November and had no problems. I also put them in a pencil case to make them easier to travel with. Love all the reviews of product an tutorials. Hugs

I also wanted a good set of Tunisian hooks & really long cables so I can make blankets & Larger projects. After looking into every company selling sets, Denise Love2Crochet set is the one I settled on. I got the pastel colors in small to medium and larger hooks (full range of sizes), long cables up to 50+ inches per cable. Mine didn't come with a vhs style case but a soft quilt /fabric roll up case that has a little pocket for every hook... it rolls up pretty small & has an elastic loop to hold it closed & keep everything together. I'm super happy with the whole set & they seem extremely well made. If you take care of the set, I can see them lasting a lifetime. ( I love the look of the wooden sets but have seen way too many reviews mentioning the heads snapping off without warning. For the expense it didn't seem worth it to me!) These hooks are sturdy, smooth, lightweight & work great for me. :D

I have the Denise in a Della Q for Crochet set. 12 sizes (3.75mm to 15mm), 2 hooks of each size (for double-ended / reversible crochet), 6 different length cords, 4 stoppers and 2 connectors in a "silk" roll up case. The case has spaces for additional hooks, all spaces are labelled by hook size in both us, old UK and metric and there are several pockets for your cords etc and other notions. I really love it. I imagine I'll still use my old hooks for standard crochet as I've been using them a fairly long time but I'm really happy with this set for Tunisian and reversible.

Glad to hear the hooks move through the yarn like butter as I just ordered some. I had a cheap set of bamboo and hated the drag. Threw them in the garbage and was about to give up on Tunisian crochet, but decided to try hooks made from a different material and higher quality.

Just bought a single one to try. Ok, freaking awesome. I believe just found my favorite hooks. I have some serious arthritis issues, so when tunisain crocheting love how easy to put loops on cord and this disconnect and move on putting more stitches say the next cord. Have seen people use stitch holders this way, but what a hassle to put loops back on your hook in the reverse pass (great idea if no tunisain hooks). So thank you for introducing these hooks. Happy Hooking.

I loved your Tunisian crochet set reviews and your tutorials. So it’s 2021 now. I went to Amazon and the Denise set is $69 now. Yipe. 😬 I wish Tunisian crochet wasn’t so popular.

Really liked your review. Am interested in getting a set so I went to amazon to check them out. Kind of funny because the white got lower ratings than the pastel and brights. I can't believe they're not all the same so it seems color does play a big role in sales. Great job. Your teaching skills are very good.

I bought the pastel set because I don't care for the appearance of the white with blue cords, even though logically, I know that there's no difference. 😬

I just dove in and ordered this set after a week of going back and forth between wanting this one or the Addi set (I knit and have used the addi needles for years). What decided me is I am finding really slippery crochet hooks drive me insane which is the exact opposite to my preference in knitting. Addi are really slippery it is sort of their claim to fame. Also that flat spot is a win for me. It lets me know exactly which way my hook is facing without looking at it.

Toni (or anyone else that bought and used these hooks), PLEASE HELP! I got my set today and the smaller ones are silky and smooth and I love them! The larger ones have somewhat of a fake wood grain and are NOT super smooth. Yarn had drag when I tested them. Is this typical of this set? I can return it but wanted to make sure it's not how it's supposed to be. TONI, I just found your channel last week and I'm jumping in with both feet!! Thank you so much! Your teaching is fantastic and I really appreciate your positive reinforcement! I'm a teacher and teaching remotely during Covid has been really hard and your videos have been a bright spot. Thank you!!

Thank you for this review Toni! I've just bought a set based on the recommendation of a fellow crocheter on Instagram, and while waiting for delivery was looking for reviews to make sure they were as great as they look! I also loooove your Sweet Gingham Blanket made with Tunisian crochet and these Denise hooks, and it's the first project I'm going to try with the set when it arrives! I'm a new Tunisian crocheter although I've been doing standard crochet for 9 years now. I've just made a shawlette called 'Pax' which uses a short crochet hook so I could tell whether I was going to get on with Tunisian or not. Although I've tried a few stitches in the past, this was my first proper project and I finally fell in love with the technique of Tunisian! Xx

I bought one of the knitters pride tunisian sets and have used them for a couple years, but I've learned I don't like the metal join between the hook and cable, plus my cords never became flexible, even after doing the steaming trick and using them nonstop for nearly a year. After buying a whole set and not really caring for it, I just ordered the size J hook, a cable, and a stopper off the denise site. I'm optimistic, but i just don't know if I'm willing to drop money on a whole set yet. Such a wonderful review!

I just found a set of hooks like this on Amazon that goes up to hook size 25mm. It's a good starter set that wont break the bank. But if I continue to tunisian I'll probably switch to this set. Cause I can replace things without having to buy a whole new set.

Thanks for the great review! I've been looking for a set! I only have a few metal tapered end Tunisian crochet hooks and they are hard to get into certain yarns. I think an inline hook would be much better! I too prefer metal needles but these appear to be quite smooth!

Don't worry about the hooks being short. When you attach the cord, you'll find it feels like a longer hook. (I don't recommend using the hook all by itself.) I've had my set for years, and I do like it very much.

I have to agree with the other reviewers, even when the cable is joined properly to the hook with that quarter turn, it seems unstable. Then as you crochet and twist that connection to pick up loops, I find it comes undone rather easily. Not a fan of this kit.
