Wow..what a consummate Mukhari from TMK, Akkarai Subha, Guruprasad and young Anirudh. TM is the master of Chowka Kala krithis..the kalapramanam adherence is inch perfect. Subha reads his mind, her responses are instantaneous and measured. The percussion duo are so very understated, they know their roles and go about it subtly. To all TM haters, go and spread your stalls elsewhere. The man produces magic wherever he performs. Hats off FEA folks, you guys rock. Have never seen TM's rich tapestry on display as much as I have seen him in his collaborations with Smt and Sri. Mehboob Subhani, Akkarai Subha and others in FEA.

The most visible sign of maturity of a Carnatic vocalist is patience; patience nurtured and cultivated from years of stage experience: Does he have patience to wait, to give his accompanying violinist enough time to complete her sangatis? In other words, does he give her enough space to display both her talent and raaga jnana while playing alapanas? While listening to this video, it is quite obvious to me that he does that to such an extent that few other vocalists do. He neither interjected nor intervened, and allowed vidushi Akkarai to complete her sangatis every time. Using short and melodious sangathis, Sri TMK has revealed the smooth and bewitching contours of Mukhari raga. His style of singing alapana has changed noticeably in this video (I listened to his three other Mukhari alapanas), confirming what I had said about his music more than two years ago: that “It seems like at each successive concert, Sri TMK reveals a "new and improved version" of himself.” To say that TMK sang the alapana, kriti, neraval and swaras beautifully and also in a spellbinding way, is to be superfluous. If Mukhari Raga is compared to an ocean, no Carnatic composer has dived and explored it at the depth of this ocean that Sri Thygaraja has. Consider his soul-stirring kriti Entanee ne; and the contemplative Ksheenamai tiruga, when sung at slow tempo; Kaaru baaru sung so melodiously by Sri Ramnad Krishnan; and the glorious Sangeetha shastra Jnanamu, sung so beautifully by Sri Malladi Suribabu; and this rare kriti, Muripemu galigegadhaa. (In Bhairavi and Shankarabharana ragas, the Trimurthis are comparable, I think.) Both percussion accompanists Sri N Guruprasad on ghatam, and Sri Aniruddh Athreya on Kanjeera, have played softly, and very well indeed, without drowning the vocalist’s voice. And finally, a few words about the tambura accompanist, Ms Bhargavi Venkatram. In general, in comments on any Carnatic music videos, I have noticed that the Tambura player is rarely mentioned. I will break this tradition, however, and wish to say this. I have observed that, like the moon that lights up the night sky, Ms Venkatram lights up the concert stage every time she appears, and sits behind her guru. She is not just a tambura player; she sings beautifully also, a fitting disciple for this extraordinary teacher. A very pleasant, melodious, and contemplative video indeed. When someone is lost in grandeur of mukhari, do audience or dresscode matter? If a musician is left 2 xplore music for himself rather than audience, better ripening are effects! Is it not? Tmk has stopped performing long back, in my humble opinion but has begun to explore depths and nuances for gems hidden till date! Hats off tmk sir!

As usual, Great..........!!!!!!!. T M krishna is not only singing by himself, but extracting best among his accomplice by giving them all the required freedom to express their knowledge on ragas, talas, manodharmas etc. etc.. When T M Krishna and team exploits the ability of karnatic music, it is not became a mere stage performance, but make all viewers become speechless, mesmerized and taken to the hearts of that divine power which gives the "OM KARA" sound to this universe in its beginning. When hearing him, my soul became motionless and became totally silent with out able to comment anything except "Wahhaha, whahaha".

8:55 - Eduppu/Beginning I have only heard this song sung in a faster tempo by Sri Kunnakudi Balamuralikrishna at the 173rd Thyagaraja Aradhana.. while it was a fast paced energetic rendition, such a slower tempo truly brings out the emotion within the song and the singing is truly amazing. The informality (that I see )of the concert gives less distractions, and invites the listener to focus on the music. There are times when I may disagree with TMKs views, and sometimes his rendition of certain songs, but I certainly believe this is a wonderful song and a great rendition. All the best to TMK and the artists

I have been an ardent fan of TMK since I discovered his genius 2 years ago. However, in his recent uploads I can't help but notice a certain stress in his voice. It is clear when I compare it to the previous recording of Mukhari. The playful exploration of ragas (As can be seen in the recordings of Emaanadicchevo and Manavyalakimchara) isn't quite as free as it was. Is this because of the stress he's experiencing in his social work? I only wish that he realise that the music truly has the power to heal and focus on his emotional well being which will no doubt bring his genius to the heights that it acheived and beyond. 🙏🏾

I also notice this, but I just wonder if it is a lack of taking care of his voice, as well as age?

@yeshprab4 жыл бұрын
Hi Udaya Prasad. Why do you say sorry? You have done nothing wrong. Nothing wrong in admiring Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri Nedunuri's music. As a matter of fact I admire his singing very much also. Because he knows Telugu, and the meaning of the Thyagaraja kritis and keerthanas he sings, a lot of bhaava comes through when he sings. Nobody can sing Sri Thyagaraja's Poornachandrika raga kriti Telisi Rama chintanato namamu as beautifully as he does. The meaning of the kriti comes through when he sings it. Yesh Prabhu

Yesh Prabhu Dear Mr Prabhu, what I meant was the Mukhari rendered by TNK is no match to what Nedanuei sir’s rendition the rating of which was always 10/10
@yeshprab4 жыл бұрын
Hi Krishna Narayanan. Here is Sangeetha Kalaanidhi Sri Nedunoori singing the same krithi. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGenm6KsnZuoZ8k Even though it is excellent, I think that it is neither fair nor appropriate to compare these two great vocalists because of the huge age difference between the two. Sri TMK is young, and his voice is robust, pleasant, and sweet, and it shows no sign of tremor that advancing age inflicts on human voice. From the voice one can tell that Sri Nedunoori is much older. So it is not fair to compare the two. I personally like Sri TMK because I find that he sings all kritis from his heart, and not just from his throat. When a vocalist sings from his heart, the listener’s heart can feel it: From heart to heart; a message sent from the singer’s heart to the listener’s heart. When one says, “His singing did not touch me,” what he really says is that he did not find the vocalist’s singing soulful. When singing springs from the heart, it is always soulful. Be that as it may, listen to Sri Nedunoori and enjoy, and admire his raaga bhaava that only comes from decades of singing. Yesh Prabhu

MOHAN GOVINDARAJAN what is the need for this kind of comment. Speak of the music and whether you like it or not. If you don’t like the music or the artiste, you’re free to visit other channels that feature music that you like. It’s also very upsetting that a person of your age and supposed maturity can talk with such prejudice and malice. What example are you setting for future generations, especially in these trying times. Shame on you, sir.

@@FirstEditionArtsChannel You reply to Mr Mohan Govindarajan was wholly unbecoming. Mr TMK was sporting the scarf used by our peaceful people and has come in a t shirt sort of casual dress. Yes his music is astounding but appearance is fake !! There is a dress protocol and why is it that when we are hell bent to castigate it , we are heroes and when asked to maintain it , one is vilified ! If it were to be only audio , then do you think you would receive such a comment ? Only when our aesthetic sensibilities are hurt one responds !! Pl don't paint your ideas on a heritage. I am sure every one will agree that but for the foundation of ancestors in Carnatic Music , ppl like TMK and others are able to reap the fruits.
@FirstEditionArtsChannel4 жыл бұрын
Sriilalit Narayana Chintalapati your contention is that Mr Mohan Govindarajan’s comment was just objecting to the casual dress worn by Krishna? You seem naive and conveniently oblivious to his obvious aspersions to “Arab dress” and “hijab”, that points to his own religious prejudice. This is what is objectionable. Formal dress codes in this day and age are a personal choice and certainly not disrespectful to the music and its traditions. All that aside, this channel is all about the music and we prefer it to be just that. Religious, social and political sentiments have plenty of other platforms and forums where they can be discussed and argued at length. Please leave them out of here.
