What did you expect from the MP5 vs the actual results?
@TheHyperfilthered3 жыл бұрын
I was expecting lackluster performance for outdoor use. Would work in indoor games. Honestly, they should start a Marui Europe company. Japan standard just does not cut it anymore.. Why would you pay 500 euros for a gun that is on par with an 80 euro Cyma. Hmm... Well maybe collecting reasons. Yeah I know skill of the player is more important than the guns they use, but still... If they'd care for the market outside Japan (which they don't) they would become the greatest manufacturer again. Other than their GBB pistols, I don't ever see myself buying a TM.
@AnvilAirsoftTV3 жыл бұрын
TM don’t give a monkeys about anything than their domestic market. If people are buying them for performance reasons then they are making a mistake. I’ve got a couple of CYMA MP5s and the TM is light years ahead in build quality, features and immersion. It depends on what the buyer is looking for.

Absolutely top notch content mate, really enjoyed seeing your videos getting incrementally more professional, got to say really started to fall out of love with the Tokyo Marui aegs with how expensive it costs to buy the rif and then start upgrading it just to get it on par with other “higher end” stock guns, not to mention the pot metals they have been using, still love my mws though, flamingo hop rubber and metal nub with .32g open blaster hitting 65m all day long
@AnvilAirsoftTV3 жыл бұрын
I’ve said it before, If people are buying TMs just for the performance they are wasting their money. There’s many things to like about them but the cost to performance ratio is not one of them.
@Eagle6Airsoft3 жыл бұрын
I’m sure Tom will mention it in his review there’s nothing pot metal about the new mp5. Its probably the best aeg I’ve ever had come through my doors. It’s the next next generation. And if you can fit a spring your self it costs 9.99 for a spring to upgrade that low power. Everything else is icing on the cake that I wouldn’t want to comment on to much, it’s personal preference and usually heavily influenced by budgets and preference. But the spring upgrade, just based on people’s constants complaints about tms low power is a must, it’s the only must do upgrade. Which is usually followed by just as many shouting “no need to upgrade, leave it alone”. Truth is it’s a premium product not designed for our country, your either passionate about it or not. Other wise there’s plenty of other brands specifically made for the uk market that are keen to take your money instead. Not offering the features of this mp5 of course. This one is like no other.
@AnvilAirsoftTV3 жыл бұрын
I’m going to have to cover what ‘pot metal’ refers to at some point :) I’ll cover this is the review too but I’m happy enough with the power as is. I’m not sure why we insist on a 9mm pistol caliber replica having the same power levels as a 5.56mm Carbine
@umarcem3 жыл бұрын
+1
@Eagle6Airsoft3 жыл бұрын
@@AnvilAirsoftTV taken in context it’s a negative connotation. Regardless of what pot metal technically is. Ie generally cast items made from flowed zinc or aluminium. Having disassembled both the bolt and tm mp5s I can safely say it’s night and day yet the bolt is the one with the “steel stamped” upper, supposedly better. The cast upper allowed them to be much more accurate in its shape internally allowing for over all a better fit especially on repeated rebuilds. I highly encourage stripping it down, it’s a joy. And dat fire selector click … that’s gbb levels of luxury click. Regards power, I mean if real steel could have 9mm that acted like 9mm but hit as hard as 556 I imagine they wouldn’t need 556 any more. Airsoft’s essentially the same, you get faster speed to target, can utilise heavier ammo, which gives tighter groupings and potentially more range if enough lift is applied with the power boost that negate the heavier Ammos deficits, and all it costs is 9.99 for a power spring. At that point I would have to say if people are still arguing, then it’s just for the sake of it. Ie the world is flat levels of arguing. Obviously it’s complex, what if the person isn’t able to fit the spring them selves. But in my opinion If people are truly honest, it’s because of the costs, not any personal beliefs that low power is better or the low power airsoft god they pray too, it’s just cost. I mean if we started doing free power upgrades, how many would say no? And in my humble opinion no one on the forums etc should really be judging other people in airsoft about whether they should or shouldn’t, do or do not spend the money. Just lay out the facts. That’s all you can do.

It's kind of a theme with TM guns actually being accurate beyond their effective range. I in fact find it to be very satisfying to lob in shots by holding over the target. It gives you the immersion of actually sniping. I once scored an accurate hit with my TM Scar H at a measured 68m distance and it was like the greatest thing ever... However - given my experiences from other TM NGRS guns I expected the MP5 to reach out at least 50m, so the results were a little underwhelming for me. But this being a CQB gun, I guess the range isn't much of a problem anyway.

When I last went to Thurlaston, we had a very strong crosswind and found it very difficult to do any range testing. Looked like you had a little crosswind from right to left so in a woodland setting with less wind, you may get better results.
@AnvilAirsoftTV3 жыл бұрын
You might get a few more metres. I’m very used to shooting in moderate crosswinds now. We had a cross/tail wind at about 7mph on the day so it would all probably just cancel out.

Quality content as ever me old, Might be advantageous to have small streamers or flags beneath the target boards on their mount poles to see wind effects, seems like the rounds are arcing sideways/you're having to compensate, would be good to get an idea of how much wind there is visually at each target/distance👍

Hold over have nothing to do with effective range. Doesn't matter what's the angle of the gun in relation to target. If you are able to get at least 50% of the shots, gun is effective at that range.
@AnvilAirsoftTV Жыл бұрын
That the way we define it. It’s also known as battlesight range. It’s non-sensical to use part of our definition to then criticise our own definition.
