So glad we have a stable release of OpenTX with working lua script finally. Got mine all updated a couple of days ago. And, just a handy tip... you can actually just edit the .lua files with notepad or text editor. You don't need to download and install another program to do that. Another nice video TMac. Thanks!
@TMacFPV5 жыл бұрын
Me too Joshua! Appreciate the info. I first edited the script with Notepad++ and attempted save as Lua file, however it did not work for me. The option was there and I selected it but it just kept saving it as "file" and wouldn't run on T16. So, I had to find another editor which worked for me. That's why I say in video to just find an editor that saves as a Lua file.
@Dieselshroom5 жыл бұрын
If you enable show "file name extensions" in your file explorer then you should be able to just ensure that the "ui" ends with .lua and ur good to go. That's what worked for me at least. Also, I believe if you just select "save" rather than "save as" it will keep the original extension type by default and be good to go as well.

I have both Jumper R1 and S-rxs connected with and neither will populate the fields in the lua scripts page, Telemtry is working as i am showing RSSI and other values. Any idea where the misconnect could be?
@samavella88315 жыл бұрын
Hey Mac, I just installed it and although the script runs, my values are not populate. I ran it on my EMAX TinyHawk with a FrSky XM+ receiver and with my Beta85X with a FrSky R-XRS receiver and I get the same results (all blank values for all the pages). I’m running BetaFlight 4.1.1 on both quads and I have my Jumper T16 on OpenTX 2.3.4.
@TMacFPV5 жыл бұрын
You need a telemetry receiver. XM+ is not a telemetry receiver. If you have the stock Beta85x it does not have an R-XSR telemetry receiver on it.

I installed the lua script 1.5.0 in a Radiomaster TX16S and had some trouble. I unpacked the zip file to the obj folder and merged the contents with the SD card. When I went to run it, there was no script in the BF folder. Looked on the SD card and found bf.lua and bf.luac in other folders and moved them to the BF folder. Attempts to execute resulted in a message that said initializing at which point the process froze. I then installed 1.4.1 which had the files in the BF folder and it works.

Anyone figure out how to get the battcheck widgets working on the T16? I can get the value widget to display VFAS or anything i want no problem, but nothing from battcheck..

@macelius4 жыл бұрын
@@TMacFPV one of the widget selections on my T16 (with opentx 2.3.9-otx) is called "BattCheck", available for both the top bar and main screen. The only documentation i've been able to find is in the widget section on page 22 of the Horus pdf on the page below, listed as "Battery Check" along with the other widgets, and some vague references to a horus lua script in a github lua scripting discussion. It looks really neat with a battery gauge, percentage, and voltage, so it'd be great to get it working. openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=8724 It's kind of like this, but looks much better: github.com/opentx/opentx/pull/6229

@@macelius yep, I see it now. Thanks. I've not used that myself. It appears its for the aircraft model battery voltage. Hello TMac! Thanks for your instructive video. Any chanse you can assist in a slite problem? I have Mateksys F772-SE and Mateksys VTX-Mini. BF 4.1.5 and OpenTx 2.3.7. Correct VTX frequency table loaded from Mateksys wep-page. VTX Telemetry connected to UART6 (Tx6) on FC. Running latest LUA script (1.4.1) I get to see the status vith the BF-Lua and asdust e.g. GPS sats required. But when trying to interact with the VTX settings I only get to se updats done in BF-Configurator, but can't change any data in from the Horus X10 LUA scritp. Neither I can get the BFOSD to work to see or adjust the settings on the video monitor. And the VTX buttons on the VTX-mini is "locked" as it should be when detecting TRAMP configured in the Ports tab in BF. Any helt to get this sorted out is much apprechiated. Kind regards, Torgeir

Het T, great video thanks for making this video! Question, any way of getting LUA on a single page click vs having to hunt for it? It would be cool to assign to one of the 3 buttons like Taranis on the TELE button.
@TMacFPV5 жыл бұрын
Hey Dennis! Thanks for your comment! I agree, it would be great. I attempted to do so by placing the appropriate file under the Scripts folder on SD card then assigning it to a Special Function in Model Setup using a switch (Switch G in my case) with the 2d column of the Special Function as SG and teh 3rd column as "Lua Script" and the 4th column as "bf" (the file name). I thought this should have worked. It did not. However, since you asked, I'll research this more with the Dev's to find out why it didn't work. If/when I find something out, I'll get back with you. More than likely, I have done something incorrectly.
@TMacFPV5 жыл бұрын
Here's the reply I got Dennis: "Function scripts are scripts specifically designed for that purpose that execute and exit in one mixer cycle and are not allowed to use the display." so, what that means is, the Betaflight Lua script as it currently is developed we cannot just put on a switch.

Perfect How-to Lua! do you know if we can have a physical direct button to open the lua script like on the frsky taranis?? thanks!!

I thought of putting it on a switch with a Special Function however, per OpenTX Dev: "Function scripts are scripts specifically designed for that purpose that execute and exit in one mixer cycle and are not allowed to use the display." So, what that means is, the Betaflight Lua script as it currently is developed we cannot just put on a switch. Its not bad the way it is, just 5 quick button presses. 1. Radio Setup, 2. Page, 3.Enter (for BF folder), 4. Enter (for BF.lua), 5. Enter (for Execute)
