Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome is pain in the jaw joint that can be caused by a variety of medical problems. The TMJ connects the lower jaw (mandible) to the skull (temporal bone) in front of the ear. Certain facial muscles that control chewing are also attached to the lower jaw. Problems in this area can cause head and neck pain, tinnitus, vertigo, facial pain, ear pain, headaches, a jaw that is locked in position or difficult to open, problems with biting, and jaw clicking or popping sounds when you bite.
Kindly share this video on your social media so we can help educate others. Wishing you and your family many Blessings! ❤️😊🙏 Dr M

I am convinced so many of the vestibular diagnosed syndromes such as Ménières, vestibular migraines, Bppv, PPPD are actually due to TMJD/ jaw issues and the severe effects on the surrounding muscles, tendons, ligaments ,and fascia. Great video!

@@TerabyteHero I won’t say cured because I still do exercises most days to keep the muscles from going into spasm. But yes, May is 4 years with no vertigo, dizziness or disequilibrium or any of the other mixers symptoms except for low tinnitus. But most dentists aren’t trained correctly for these types of TMJD symptoms. You really have to do legwork to find a properly trained one. They need a lot of post dental school education, and understand how to use a correctly made adjustable oral appliance ( NOT a nightguard!). There are groups on Facebook who track dentists and physical therapists who have helped. Do a search for the “Menieres, vertigo, tinnitus tmj”, group. Good luck!

@@TerabyteHero if TMJD is at the root of the symptoms, then exercises without treatment may not help and could set off symptoms, because we’re reactive. However, Motivational Doc has great exercises that address the muscles. Search for Sternocleidomastoid (SCM), Traps, scalenes, mastoid, occipitals, , and also stretching the below the front of the neck above the breast. There is also a great exercise called Genie Magic. Search for that. The woman has a stand alone video and one called a Mini class. Look for the mini class. It includes the Genie Magic exercise and others that are helpful. Just start with one and go very very slowly. Also do smaller movements while symptomatic. We are very reactive. Good luck!

Never went to the doctors bec I thought it would get better on its own and It never hurt me. Then I came across this video and tried the exercises. Right away I felt my back jaw. It sounded like the bones were cracking or popping. It didn’t hurt, but it definitely felt weird. Thank you for sharing these helpful health tips! I believe most cases of TMD comes from cleching and grinding while sleeping and I believe that most Cases of clenching and grinding during sleep comes from some level of obstructive sleep apnea. We need to find where the obstruction is whether its nasal soft papate or tongue and fix it. I believe that if one has a patent airway during sleep then they are less likely to clench and grind. This should be your goal! And this should relieve the spasm! Then you don't have to relaese any muscle spasms cause basically you don't have any

you need a properly made night guard. it won't stop you from bruxing but will allow more freedom of movement and therefore less muscle isometric exercising. most of the damage occurs at night, when you have no control over the clenching/grinding forces that occur. waking in the morning with headaches is pathognomonic for nocturnal bruxism.

@@boxsterbenz4059 One that is 3d molded from an impression of your teeth? My dentist wants $1400 and I inspected the thing and got that it was 2mm thick and made in house. I have found online places that do the same procedure in impression and manufacturing for 1/10th of the price. Is this something you may recommend? It looks to be the exact thing the dentist was going to make for me. Same BPA free material. Soft inside, hard exterior and it "snaps" on the teeth, not covering the gums.
