As someone who (as much as I don’t wanna admit it) has a lot of experience with Lili, it feels surreal to see MainMan say he doesn’t mind her in this game/compliment her playerbase’s skill. She’s such a prime character to hate on but here, Mainman (who is known for generally disliking female characters in Tekken) is actually giving her credit. I will say that for Tekken 8 standards, she is a rather fundamental character and overall on the more honest side. I am biased to be fair and she definitely does have some cheese, I totally get why people hate her but I don’t think she’s as mindless as some of the other characters in this game. She can definitely exploit certain tools and flowcharts, especially against people unfamiliar with the matchup but you do also need fundamentals and strong mixups to take full advantage of her at higher levels (and just for clarification, I am not calling her weak). Many of her cheesier tools do have defined counterplay, even though it can be hard to apply depending on the instance.

His guides are the content you should check out, that’s where he’s usually objective and they are pretty helpful, especially the 8-minute character guides. They were great for me when i started in Tekken 7. His videos like this one are something you shouldn’t take to serious, i’m not saying he doesn’t mean what he says, but these videos are opinion based and at the end of the day, they don’t matter much. I myself disagree with his crying , but i stick around for the informative content.

Hwo isn't braindead, but for every hour you put into your hwoarang is matched by labbing against him, and he's your char, you're going to put a lot of time into him. I have a google doc w/ a list of what to do vs each char, typically it takes me about 3 hours to go through a chars moveset and map out what to duck, ss, block punish, stance transitions, what their good moves are, and what their punish tools are. That same sheet for Hwo took at least 30 hours and multiple visual aids.

@@vradarx A Lars main has to be creative in order for his stances to be effective. Lars has zero to no plus frames on his neutral move-set. He’s just a 50/50 demon during stance. But 90% of his stance moves are unsafe. Playing a Lars is a matter of respect. You need to disrespect his stances by launching him during SEN LEN and DEN. If a Lars makes you afraid of him he already won cuz now he’s made you scared of his stances.

Asuka's character is based on the "Kansai Culture" of Osaka, Japan. She incorporates the "bokke and tsukkomi" humor that was popularized there. Just like how they tried to capture the Filipina's insecure disposition when they made Josie, they tried to capture that culture of Osaka when they made Asuka. Harada himself had to explain this on X (formerly known as twitter) to dispel some of the hate. After all, Asuka was made to represent an entire culture of a region in the nation he was born in. It's only sad to see that the game's current biggest content creator is the main propagator of such hate that Harada himself is trying to combat.

I went the opposite. I tried a lot of different characters because I was resisting playing Jun, who I wanted to play ever since seeing her inclusion in the game. I gave up avoiding a top tier and I’m having more fun. Almost everyone’s busted to a certain extent anyway plus it’s so early in the games life, so imo play who you like most 🤷 (Leroy is sick tho. I hope he’s not as bad as people originally thought 🤞)

Everyone can just hate Xiaoyu, Jun, Alisa, Asuka or every broken character in terms of gameplay but we all love them as characters because their all cool. As a Asuka main I’m heartbroken because I’m not a good fighting game player and she’s easy to pick up and play learning to master her is as usual not easy, A pro player like Fergus even says she’s not good at all in this game even though he brought her to GOD Twice. Tekken 8 might be the first fighting game I’ve seen where almost all characters have some type of complete fundamental bullshit without complaining.

I genuinely think some of the characters are designed extremely well it just that the devs kinda went too far making them OP and “brain dead” while they focus on the more loved characters like Jin, Reina etc. I just feel like the hate is not justified on characters and more so players, don’t pro players work their ass of for being the best? I really, really do not agree that Reina is so similar to Lidia. I get why you would see i10-punish and ff2 into stances and say that's similar tio Lidia, but that's where the similarities end for me. I hope Lidia comes back and I think there's a decent chance for it.

The only thing I've heard, even from high tier Asuka mains, is that she's underwhelming compared to other characters and just a worse Jun, way worse than her previous incarnations. Fighting Kazuya is mostly just a guessing game which involves a lot of luck, and it gets really boring after a few dozen matchups. His lack of (viable) moves doesn't help his repetitiveness either. Every Kazuya I see feels like the same person but from different timelines in their life lol

As a Xiaoyu Main I like to play Kazuya the most. Mishimas are the easiest to upset, they hate Xiaoyu and I like to give them more reason for it. They have the lamest excuses. They think only them play "the real Tekken" and then they whine when Kazuya "The Manly Man" gets beaten up by a little teenage girl. Yeah, I only laugh about their hate and their begging of Xiaoyu to be nerfed showing their incompetence. Now, vote me down as much as you like. Check out the win rates, Xiaoyu is always towards the lower end, and that's independent of ranks. And talking about toxicity, that's a typical Mishima trait. More than often I got hate messages from Mishimas especially Kazuya (and that was already the case in T7). I can't take that serious anymore. TMM, did you know that lars orbital crush MID !? If he does orbital after you block 2,1, lars will crush most df1 in the game and launch you. Work in practice mode against Reina and Jin df 1 for example.

I'll probably be called a scrub for this, but I absolutely despise Devil Jin. When dude is in heat, it's a guarantee that whatever momentum you had in the match is now his completely. @@AsukasButler Not irrational, they always have the weird movesets with loads of flips and twists making it harder to keep track of whats happening compared to characters like Drag,Steve,paul etc. The more unorthodox the fighting style the more hate a character gets because it's harder to fight especially for newer players. I'd fight op dragunov over any female character any day.

Mainman is such a little bih. There are more broken characters than the bears. There are many viable bear players, now that they are actually useful its an issue to learn the match up when people before looked at bear and its players as jokes and unfun including Mainman in T7 and before. His biggest problem with them is their hitboxes. You randomly drop your accustomed combos fighting against them. Not just combos but attacks in general. Their heads dont have hitbox and because of their stance low attacks dont connect etc. You need to learn a new game for the sake of two characters and thats very anti-climatic as you would approve. Their winrate also confirms their level of bias.

Why do people hate Bears, but not Ling, Yoshi, Victor, etc? Like I actually would like to know the reason. Victor has where you can literally shoot a gun as a low frame interrupt from far range and teleport, but Bears having weird hitboxes and ONE stance where they are on all fours is somehow the most offensive character in the game. And not just their height as well: Jack, Marduk, and Gigas were quite tall. Can someone please give me a concrete reason? There are like 10+ humanoid characters that are more annoying than bears to me. Alisa and King (in T8) can also join that list.

Bears get way too much hate imho; I had trouble with the matchup, then I played bears for like 3 days and realized it's really, really not that bad. Bit of cheese sure, but man do they have to pay for it with their lives if their opponent knows the matchup. Bears are just trolls like Yoshi but without many of the strong tools other than a decent mix-up game. Defensively they're pretty meh.

I actually think you would like to play Yoshi in 8. He's a lot easier to play here and playing him fundamentally is very strong. Don't have to party like crazy and pray something works cuz his moves actually function now.
