I never thought about Tokka's shoulder pads being glued on, since he has no straps, until you said it lol. But I forsure wondered about Rahzar's blue shirt lol. You crack me up with Rahzar covering his special area and his toes Hahaha! Agreed about the cartoon doing them right. Great review.

1:04:48 well, all these accessories (laser trap, cuffs, both of the guns) were shown right next to Dirk's figure at SDCC. And also an interesting note - in new Shredder's revenge game we're fighting with digital Tokka and Rahzar at the mall - the very same place these two were introduced.

That’s awesome! Did you see they just revealed the other members of Bebop and Rocksteady’s gang at NYCC plus Jersey Red? I can’t wait! They better not be autoT exclusives or anything difficult to acquire. I’ll lose it haha. I haven’t played the new TMNT game yet. I was waiting till I got the physical copy on the switch. I may buy the digital on my sons PlayStation 4.

I absolutely love these figures. While I appreciate the movie, I’m more into collecting animated figures, so they are the perfect fit. I know that NECA is also doing a Fred Wolf style Last Ronin and I hope they do more like a toon Super Shredder too!

Same here! Like literally _everyone_ says they prefer the movie versions. As amazing as they are, I'm just more into the cartoon stuff. And I like Rahzar _waaaay_ more than Tokka. That's another unpopular opinion with everyone digging Tokka more. Like when reviewers say Tokka's got a lot more going on, I don't know what figures they're looking at. Rahzar's definitely got more detailing.

Really enjoy the deep dives you do. Probably more interesting than the figures themselves :P Fun fact about the Tokka figure: it's a re-use of the Archie Slash they've just released (or maybe vice-versa, regardless, they got their money's worth from that one). EDIT: I should watch the whole video before pretending I was smart :P

Haha, it’s alright, I almost didn’t mention it, because I nearly forgot. I still haven’t gotten Slash yet, but I have him preordered at BBTS.

I ordered this pair online, then found in store and bought it there. And returned them both because I was able to get my hands on the movie versions for $75 from a friend, and I only want one version of these guys- and the movie versions might be the best figures of any line that NECA has ever made. I could have kept them for resale, but I'd rather someone else get them for MSRP than hoard and upsell. It's better for the hobby and the continuation of the line if more people can get figures in store at a reasonable cost. It's not worth my time to pack up a box, go to the post office, and hope the item is not lost or damaged in shipping for a $15 profit- and these aren't getting back up over $100 anytime soon. I want NECA to go wild with obscure characters and even hit some of the Playmates characters that never appeared in the show. Some of my favorites that I would love in the cartoon style with the black line work are Gold Fugitoid (this may be a better buy from Super7), King Lionheart, Napoleon Bonafrog, Walkabout, Hothead, Monty Moose, and Panda Khan.

I don’t blame you for not wanting to go through the hassle of reselling them. There’s a lot of overhead. Back when the line first began I bought two extra Bebop and Rocksteady’s because I thought I could resell them since they were so hard to find in order to help pay off the sets I bought for myself. By the time they took out eBay fees, the extra money I had to pay for the boxes and everything else I only made $7 on each of them. That’s when I decided it wasn’t worth it. Most resellers aren’t making that much unless they put them up for insane prices.they just make the hobby annoying. If you were going to keep one set of Tokka and rahzar I’d say go with the movie figures too. Like you said they’re some of the coolest action figures I’ve ever seen. They’re definitely in my all time NECA top 10. It’s good that they put them up again this year for people who missed out on them the first time.

22:12 Yeeeeah, I didn't think about that with the Kirk Douglas thing. I don't have the episode, but the one little clip that _used_ to be on KZbin, Rahzar reminded me of an alternate Casey Jones; so a Clint Eastwood type. It's like he was the tough _'don't take shit off no one'_ type that was very protective of his non-biological little baby brother. Maybe one of these days I'll try to download the series; cause I probably stopped watching after the first three or four seasons. *Maybe he wasn't much like I thought. Well, I guess that's Nickelodeon for ya with suppressing our childhoods by not having adequate clips.

I orderd these online from Target. I received mine a week ago or so. I gave up collecting the Neca Toon stuff; I could never find most of it and I was never able to get a Toon Michaelangelo. I do cherrypick certain figures that catch my interest, otherwise I'm content to wait on the S7 Ultimate versions. I love the animated Neca Tokka and Rhazar figures. I also have the movie versions, but the animated and comicbook versions appeal more to me. Of the two, Tokka is amazing. The colors and overall size and feel of the figure is amazing. I don't have my Archie or S7 Slash from BBTS yet, but if the animated and video game versions this Neca Tokka is probably my favorite of all the evil TMNT turtles figures we've gotten so far. Rhazar is awesome too. What a great set.

I wonder if this episode was inspired by the X-Men cartoon story where Graydon Creed was hating against mutants and it was revealed his father was a mutant, Sabretooth.

I don’t think so. That episode came out around the same time. David Wise probably got it from somewhere though. He’s been known to use cartoon tropes from other shows or even repeat the same cartoon in different series he writes. X-men was a great cartoon though. Was that the one where Jubilee went to the friends of humanity headquarters?

hey raz did you notice that in the sdcc neca tmnt display the new sculpts of the "superhero costums" of bebop and rocksteady, the faces themselves were more acurate to the cartoon? i hope for a rerelease of those 2 with those changes.

I took a look after I read this and I agree with you. They look more like the cartoon. They could probably make new sculpts of basic bebop and rocksteady if they wanted and make rocksteady shorter and bulkier.

Speakin' on Tokka, not having Slash yet is killin' me man. Just found out the other day it's been out in the US. I got all those comic figures on pre-order off Big Bad, so I'm probably looking at December. Interesting with all the mom & pop shops getting that stuff way quicker.

Well at least you’ll have a full banquet when your figures have a full course meal now. I like the cartoon version of these two on how they made them more intelligent rather than mindless beast, not that I’m saying the movie version was bad. But still looking back the costume and affects work on Tokka and Rahzar in the movie was pretty good. I mean if they were to come out again they probably just CGI them. It’s just such a shame that the cartoon series never followed up on them much since they were not much bad guys.

Haha yeah, Tokka needs to toughen up a little. Slash was crazy in his first appearance. That Slash in the show would rip this Tokka to bits.

You'd think they would've paired Dirk with AJ instead of Mona Lisa. Just makes the most sense, especially with Dirk and Mona both being 'bottom of the barrel' heavy hitters. Like Mona could've been paired with, I don't know, Tattoo? Yeah...AJ Howard, Tattoo, Tempestra, Merdude, and Ray are the biggest wants (other than what's been announced) I can think of. It's definitely time for them to start releasing some vehicles, like the smaller ones. But I do feel a big sigh of relief with having this line pretty much all fleshed out now.

AJ would have been great with Dirk. Mona could have been with Tempestra and Bugman could have been a deluxe figure. I don’t know who to pair with Tattoo. Vehicles will be great if they get to them. I want a mutant module! They can also do like 3 accessory packs.

It would've been so awesome if NECA could've included some Playmates/movie inspired weapons. It wouldn't have been the first time they've included things that weren't on the show. It's a little selfish considering this set is a banger, but it just feels weird displaying these battle ready characters without weapons. Guess they'll be getting some of the Crooked Ninja Turtles gang weapons. Plenty to go around considering I only ordered a one set and that's the only pack I haven't seen at Target.

Yeah I could see them giving them a cartoon Rahzar shield or chunk of wood. I think the Crooked Ninja turtle weapons would work great. I’d give Tokka the jaggy knife that came with Smash or the sword that came with Antrax since it looks like the Tokka sword from back in the day. Maybe give Rahzar Antrax’s club since I display him with the Axe.
