Neca did a good job listening to its critics. The hips on the original Tmnt figures were pretty crappy and then then replaced them with some pretty great ones.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one bothered by the slip cover AND THE THROWING STAR (definitely thought it would be included and they just made a mistake with the preview images for the pre-order)!!!! I really hope they include the throwing star with whatever the next GITD figure is….and maybe go back to including the slip cover and GITD stuff on the box! That I what? Haha you got cut off and no I’m wondering what you were gonna say. At this point they should have kept for slip cover for moc collectors. It was a staple of the brand for people’s displays. The star is the biggest problem for me. He looks unfinished without it especially since there’s a space and peg for it. How much could they have possibly saved for not including that little piece of plastic?

Got my Glow in the Dark Slash, and he's awesome. I ordered him largely based on your glowing (😆😜) review, and I'm so glad I did. This is the sort of wild and colorful exuberance that I love from TMNT. Just radiates that neon fluorescent 80s/90s style than some people may hate, but I love it and find it pure fun and nostalgic.

@@razrentals8897 Now that I see the regular Slash on sale for $20 on BBTS, I've considered picking that one up, but then again, I'm so happy with Glow Slash, maybe that's enough Slash for me. Unless they do a Music Slash with guitar and leather jacket, then of course, I'd get that one 😆😉

saw ur post online, the slip covers were dope and they served a purpose they protected them from light and discoloration!!! They did this rumored for best buy and other retailers according to comments on X. I actually have all my suepr7 figs in the slip covers on shelves and kidos love seeing the reveals lol

Good call! Light protection is probably more important for a glow in the dark figure in case you don’t want to wear out the glow feature over time. That’s a bummer that this guy won’t match your other figures. I knew that would be a problem for moc collectors. Just curious, where did you see my video posted?

I always liked the slip cover but thought they weren't very necessary. That is until I got my gitd Slash. I keep my figures moc, but the plastic window had two big splits in it and i feel like that would have been prevented with the cover. Either way the figure is amazing and is now my favorite from Super7.

Oh man, all those neons and fluorescents, that just screams 1990 to me, I love it! Reminds me of Surfer Mike in a lot of ways. Bonkers, but in the best way. I don't own an Ultimate Slash yet, but I'm almost tempted to get this version, rather than the standard version.

The slipcovers are amazing. But they take up so much space, it's impossible to browse in stores, you can't see the figures displaying them, and most importantly... if Super7 raises prices on their regular figures again to $60 or $65, their Ultimates lines are going to die... fast.

It’s a month late but I just saw your post & agree. Packing is too excessive & price points. Way too high. I’m fine with the articulation. But at the old price point ($44). But @ $65… Brian’s in the realm of sh figurearts, loose collector, Furay and similar lines. And they are highly articulated lines. & when ultimates get highly discounted regularly & QC issues pop up more frequently, I lose faith in buying it at full cost, let alone pre’ing. The only ultimates I’d. Considered pre’ing are the back metaled (or vac metaled, unsure of the correct term) silver hawks. Only because this is an old technique no one is doing. & ramen toys recently attempted silver hawk. For $99. Again, better articulation but not back metaled.

They say their retailers told them they didn’t like it, but that Slash was a Super7 store exclusive until it wasn’t. They should at least keep those items for the stuff they sell directly through their store.

Bummed. This was the Best GITD Variant. Unfortunately, Packaging is actually everything to me so it doesn’t fly. I want all my figures to match. So unless I can buy discounted or used just for the figure and weapons it’s a no for me.

That Slash figure looks like he’s been dumped in bleach or any other chemicals. Still I only have one glow in the dark figure and that is Mutegen Man, I never really saw the interest or need of getting other glow in the dark figures when I already have them. Nevertheless I always like the way you animate the turtles into battle

Mutagen Man was a cool GITD figure too! I’d like they to make some crazy color GITD Genghis Frog next. I’m glad you like the figure animations. Those are a lot of fun to do and I usually have a lot of fun planning them out. I went to school for animation and use to do storyboards a few years ago so I really try to tell a fun story with dynamic compositions. I think they’ve been getting better and better so it’s nice to know someone likes them. I was pretty happy with the Napoleon Bonafrog Colossus one and the latest Genghis Ultimates review too. Genghis looked like such a beast as he attacked all of the villains with that crazy Venom looking face he has. Eventually when I put my Surfer Mike review up I have one in there that I thought also came out pretty cool.

I think the star is the biggest let down. I didn’t notice in the shots, but I think they should have included it since he now looks unfinished.

@@razrentals8897 I have to assume that was an oversight. That star had to be in the same sprue as the others, so the factory likely just threw them away due to Super7 being asleep at the wheel and forgetting to put it on the sheet. The missing ninja star was even pointed out to them when they solicited, so they have no excuse. The packaging was supposed to glow, though. And I view the Glow in the Dark figures as special figures with special packaging. No slip cover is rotten. And the glow on the figure itself isn't as bright as some others, so they used less pigment on the glow than in the past. Just so disappointing, since I loved the regular release of Slash.

@@SmokeForPants yeah the slip cover is a huge disappointment to people that want all of their figures to look consistent. Who do you think glows the best? I thought this figure glowed well, but looking at my pictures it was probably Muckman. Baxter and the foot soldier barely glow at all for me.

@@razrentals8897 I was thinking of Muckman and Mutagen Man, since Slash's base color is most similar to theirs. Baxter was weak, and I never even pulled the Foot Soldier or the Ooze turtles out of packaging,. I wasn't expecting much glow from the turtles, because they're transparent. I should probably pull them all out to compare.

I didn't realize they are more expensive than the standard version. I haven't bought any glow in the dark versions yet.

@@seanbeckett4019 yeah he was $60 to begin with. I think the original Slash was $55. The turtles were like $65 I think. I think they were more expensive due to the green glow in the dark plastic.

@@seanbeckett4019 yeah, I’m going to do a lot more cherry picking from now on. If they can’t use the playmates designs and I don’t like the new sculpts they make I won’t get it. Originally I passed on Rat King before they took him down to resculpt him. I’m probably gonna skip most paint variants from now on. I’m not getting that toon Shredder or Mirage Casey Jones. I don’t even understand how he can be considered Toon Armor shredder when he’s not wearing or shirt or has the flap in front of his pelvis.

@@razrentals8897 I liked the suggestion you made, in your Rat King video, about how Super7 should keep the vintage Playmates aesthetics and gnarlyness, but just change up details, add new details, whatever, keeping the original spirit of weirdness and grossness of the character, but interpreting it in their own way. It doesn't necessarily have to be a rote copy of the original Playmates design, to interest me.
