Unboxing & Review: FansToys FT-16T Sovereign (AKA Galvatron Toy Version)

This does bring back a lot of memories from my childhood having had the original toy. FT16 IMO opinion is still one of if not FTs best overall release so to do this repaint is amazing and makes sense. I have the original FT16 and can’t financially justify a double up of a figure, I’m still tempted to swap the it out for the FT16M as I love the paint job. Great review as always, next up FT Aussie

Not only toy ver. but also comic ver. Galvatron II is more menacing than Galvatron. Everytime I look at Galvatron II, I could here Welker’s AOE voice.

Good you gave props and a link for their video. It's an older mold and most people already have it and know it's transformation. But still good to know the official they intended to avoid breakage and confusion.👍 The name phonetically is Sovereignty. Which we all want in reality 🤣. I dig it. Thanks for the review.

I distinctly remember the Christmas I got the G1 toys of Galvatron and Ultra Magnus, the fact this deco looks so good is really triggering my nostalgia. I decided to skip it as I simply do not have the space, but its probably the most difficult pass I've had to make since I started collecting. Great review.

Cool review Sony, it's nice to see that they covered those die-cast feet for shipping cause str8 out the box from showZstore my ft-16m had a nice big chunk chipped right off so that was a little disappointing considering how much I paid for him but he sure is an awesome figure wonder how x-transbots version will stand up next to this badboy...thanx again 🙏👍

This is an extremely compelling repaint, the deco makes so much more sense to me, and seems to fix all my issues with the original. Think it especially does great favours for the head sculpt, looks really menacing and sleek… Do I detect a purchase in my immediate future?!

FYI, I believe the “M” in FT-16M is supposed to mean “metallic”, not “movie”. Or that’s my understanding.

I really disliked the original Galvatron toy, and have never been a fan of any of the later versions that tried to mimic that look. But this one looks awesome. The first time I've ever found myself liking a Galvatron figure in that color scheme.

Great review. I wonder what woulda happened if ft did this version first back then? Would they still have taken off as well as they did? I remember getting this! And it was a milestone at that time in quality and paint. Glad they did it finally.

I'm glad I held on to my toys r us verison of rodimus prime. This version of galvatron with go great with that rodimus.

I can't wait to get him. I have him in my Roller's Stash at TCP. Oddly enough, I feel like the colours work better. I'm a huge fan of colour coordination, and there are red highlights on all parts of his body, the same greys, etc. I know this seems a little odd, but for that same reason, I use the translucent cannon on the M version because it matches the abs and knees, but I plan on using the opaque one on this version to match the waist piece.

Man, I cannot get his wrists to turn to line up like you did at the beginning of video, they won't budge and I'm not trying to break it. Outside of that I am so very glad I was able to get this. Disappointed I missed out on first sovereign but this one is beautiful!

Take the screw out and try to turn it. The paint makes it get stuck so it just needs a bit of loosening

I bought six shot recently at robotoybase and he was very close to the price he was when released on TCP and TF Source. They still have him in stock. They’re located in Hong Kong but I’ve bought over 10 figures from them and never had an issue.

Personally I think you let them off the hook a bit on the leg and tread painting. The dull plastic legs really stands out to me vs the bright white on the rest of the figure. :/

Those eyes really pop on camera. I wished FT made rubber treads on those arm pieces instead of those plastic ones with little hidden plastic wheels. Makes it look not 3rd party or masterpiece. But thats my only complaint

Uhm maybe it's my TV but He looks really plasticky and weird...different from the ShowZ. Pics he seemed painted onsite but not in the review, maybe it's the white background in the review area? He doesn't look painted on the gray except the torso...just my imo I think that a shattered glass deck would've been much better than this, easy pass on this 3rd one for me. 😍my purple16/&violet blue 16m
