The song openly refers to Primo Levi's book If This Is a Man, in which the author recounts his experience in the concentration camps.[5] On the back of the cover of the various formats, words in Hebrew "Zokher eth Ayom" are written and are also part of the lyrics. Farmer explained in an interview : "It is in Hebrew and it means exactly "Remember the Day", it is in the Torah. When I wrote this song, because (...) I have a bedside book called If This Is a Man precisely by Primo Levi, and which evokes the deportation and I wanted to talk about that (...), there are several possible readings but that's what I thought and to this idea, the need to remember these things."[2] However, as stated by Instant-Mag, the song is "full of hope and resolutely turned towards the potentiality of human beings to overcome its hatred", while the book seeks to "prove that the concentration camps were able to make the man inhuman, removing the brotherhood and mutual aid".[6] In its lyrics, "Souviens-toi du jour" is "the continuation and the antithesis of "Désenchantée", and is a plea for an alternation, a sublimated power, held by an ideal".[7] Some words of the song also refer to a poem by French author Pierre Reverdy, Esprit pesan

Thank you again, for taking care of each detail of her art => writting, composing, acting, you're right as I used to hear from rare American journalists that she's more than Madonna, provocation only when it is necessary, double or more meaning of lyrics as poetry, not as an engagement, she's a show girl with her real art, very smart, she decides everything (cos' she has the chance to be so successful that she can do what she wants), as it will be perfect on stage => meaningful artistic creation first, sport, then technical work arrangements/changes, repetitions and repetitions and after, only after, she's totally able to combine what she prepared since almost 12 months, with an incredible subtle delicate and deeply emotional connexion with her audience..... Next summer, she will be on stage for more than 13 dates in the biggest stadium in France Belgium & Switzerland (Russia, Ukraine were cancelled, but she just added 2 dates, making this next Tour the biggest in terms of audience than any other show in French musical history.... 400K tickets sold more thant 1 year before the start of the Tour..... Always and always bigger...... The new single of the new area just came out "A TOUT JAMAIS" with an amazing MV (this song made me mad since it came out......again a universal song in which anybody could recognize himself thanks to her poetry. She is the greatest and biggest and for me my absolute alltime favorite, in fact she is more a goddess to me than a human being with her art, and also her thinkings and way she is. Buuuuuuuut "biggest in terms of audience than any other show in French musical history" is something that is not really true. I would guess that title belongs to Jean-Michel Jarre, with his huge mega concerts that even are in the guiness book of records. I actually love both of them ,also due to the fact how different they are and how different they make music, even though both are very electronic.

On a pop music composed by Laurent Boutonnat, Mylène Farmer writes a text inspired by the book "Si c'est un homme" (if it's a man) by Primo Levi, in which he tells his own story in the Nazi concentration camps. The video clip, directed by Marcus Nispel, shows the singer in a house in flames, symbolizing on the one hand the destructive hatred of men, and on the other hand the Humanity that resists to the chaos and always manages to get up. "zakhor eth yom" is Hebrew and means: "Souviens-toi du jour" (Remember the day). "zakhor eth yom" also begins some Hebrew prayers often correlated with the suffering of a people.

The song is a connexion with her friend Primo Levi who wrote: et si c'est un homme. The book is about his life in concentration camps. The book is really pessimistic on mankind. Mylène Farmer tries to add a hope to the sentence: if it's a man then let's talk about love at will.
