Homer left us about twenty years ago. I knew him and visit he and his wife's graves occasionally. He was an inspiration.

The opening scene is heartbreaking seeing such a beautiful valley overwhelmed by the road. Imagine what it looked like before the road with maybe just a wagon trail. I love the old slow uncrowded dirt roads.

That is the old road...Nickajack Trace it is likely thousands of years old and there is a cave that runs beneath the site that drains out both sides into two different river systems. It really is a magical place . He said he lived on top of the world. 💜

He is kin to my wife she is a Robinson. I had a friend that was a green I worked with. We made a long visit one day years ago. Homer was a pistol he had a lot of stories for course I can’t tell. But the one about the gun he showed me he found in a cave was one of the best. He said he toke it because the over guy did not need it anymore. A great ole guy.

From reading the comments I guess he's gone to be with Jesus and his wife!! Young folks...listen to these elders when you can!! I wish I'd taken the time when my Grandparents and parents were still here...they ALL lived through the depression, imagine the knowledge I could have gleaned and put to use today!!! R.I.P. Mr. Homer I hope to hug you in heaven!!
