You are being awful generous with assuming I had a design 😉. Or even a plan. The wing-it approach isn’t working to well for me at the moment building the water collection system… couple changes already… you’ll see.

Give a guy a shout-out in a video and it's the only one he does not comment on .... :)

I would like to make a suggestion for future growing pots. Use the earth box concept. Put a grid type of material in the bottom and leave about 3 inches or so for water to stay in the bottom. Have a pipe to fill it with water. The drain hole will be about 3 inches up from the bottom. Fill it with water until the water comes out of the drain. The potting mix does not get in the water. I have used earth boxes and love them. I have grown monster tomatoes wit them. Just my 2 cents.

Looks really good, but you really impressed me with corded tools. I thought I was the only person left alive who still used them. Have a good day.

Old school. I do like battery powered drills, but 10 years from now none of my battery powered tools will still be working… but the corded ones will be.

Fun season quickly coming to a close. Was 73 degrees yesterday, 60 today, not supposed to break 40 tomorrow, and the 10 day outlook is cold, cold, cold. Almost time to do some indoor projects. Trying to wrap up water harvesting system for greenhouse tomorrow if I can, then be onto some restorations. Picked up a massive corn sheller in need of total rebuild. Have to use the tractor to pick it up and move it around. Should be fun, will likely take me a couple months.

How's she goin'? This is a nice solution to making a planter from the plastic barrels. I have been planning on making a barrel planter too but I was only going to use one barrel per stand. But now that I see what you have done with 3 in a row, this looks like the better way to go!! Thanks and take 'er easy!!

It is still working out great. Have cucumbers, beans and peas growing like crazy in them now. Wife wants a 'single' unit built for the deck at the house next week. Best of luck with your build, not too difficult, I think you will enjoy it. :) And very much appreciate taking the time to leave me some feedback.

Hello Kelly, may have to wait until I'm back out at the farm this weekend. I should have drawn up some plans. I'll take the measurements for you. If you like, send me an email to cwgeocacher@gmail.com to remind me, as well as give me an easy way to send you a sketch with the details. Also super happy that you are enjoying my videos. I get a lot of enjoyment out of sharing what I'm working on out at the farm on weekends.

You could use plastic paint cans to catch the runoff and then reuse it.

with the drain holes at the bottom 'swamping' the plants was not an issue, in the greenhouse I did have to make a point to water at least every other day so they would not dry out. Thanks for leaving the feedback - I'm loving this raised planting bed design and may add another one next year.

How dis you connect the legs to the top?
@TryNewThings
@TryNewThings Ай бұрын
Pocket screws is how I attached the legs, you can see them at about the 9:00 minute mark. Thanks for the question. You thinking about building one? Two years on, and I'm getting a lot of productivity out of mine inside the greenhouse. Just pulled all the spring lettuce that had run its course and planted some cucumbers that are supposed to be heat tolerant and some peppers for the summer. If you havn't already, give the channel a Subscribe to catch other hobby farm type projects.
