Historic Lotz House - Part 1

When I went to Lotz House Mr. Thompson guided our tour. He was an amazing guide and it is obvious that he cares about the history of the battle and the family. The visit really humanized the battle. He told us about the children who died and how the family blamed the Federal Army for poisoning the well. When asked if he thought that was true he stated that through his research he believes they drowned after a heavy rain flooded what was the beginning of the trench works.

I am keen to get back to Franklin my next trip to USA. I hope to tour the house wth this man. Great at bringing humanity and emotion into the house and its time in history.
