The tip of looking for plays assuming your opponent has all 8 tiles at once is a nice way to speed up endgame calculations :) It's a simple idea but sometimes you get lost calculating individual outcomes one by one when you don't quite need to. Unless you are playing against a bot or someone with perfect word knowledge (read: an engine-user), there's always the possibility that your opponent won't find the bingo or big play that you are trying to block. Even chess grandmasters have missed mates-in-one when under time pressure - and it's a game with zero luck factor! So, sacrificing to block isn't always ideal in a somewhat luck-based game, especially since blocking moves are usually double-edged. And it's even less ideal at the casual level, where most players only know or memorize common-ish words.
