To Buy or Not to Buy - Lady drinks in Thailand

What's the go with BUYING 'LADY-DRINKS' in THAILAND??
Should holiday makers factor this expense into their total Thai vacation budget!?
Keis One, Marc and some girls visit Bangsaen Beach, half way between Bangkok & Pattaya and discuss the validity of lady-drinks in Thailand.
I feel it is a topic work discussing based on my observations over the past 10 weeks in Pattaya, Thailand. Of course, budgeting for a holiday to Thailand is completely up to the individual and I have no interest in dictating how any traveller spends their money.
Have a laugh while I get my first ever beach-side pedicure hahaha

I have had nights rather then sit alone in my hotel I have gone to a bar had some good conversation , a laugh , game of pool and the money for a few lady drinks is well spent. I have also had nights when you walk into a bar and five girls jump on you demanding a drink. Lady drinks all good, but dont be a mug!

Being able to buy lady drinks and talk to all sorts of girls is what differentiates Pattaya from being at home drinking in the corner of the pub alone. No need if you are happy to be with your mates but if you are alone it will help you have the best holiday of your life.

I came here with that same hesitation and “is it a scam?” mentality… but it only took me a couple nights to realize the times are so much better when you offer to buy the girls some drinks.

It very hard for a girl or guy to live off the wage here in Thailand 10,000 to 13,000 baht per month , so lady drinks are huge for the bar staff and the girls who bring the drinks to you, it can work out to be 5- 7 K a month. So yes Sam you are 100% correct, some or most of the money the girls get from lady drinks goes to the family or kids to go to school or help grandma to look after the girls kids. buy girls drinks even if its just a few a night its not going to break the bank. Dude i can not believe you have not had a foot massage before you have been missing out mate. Great vid Sam keep up the good work and stay safe.

I live here and on the rare occasion when the wife and I go to a bar we almost always buy a couple lady drinks, particularly with good service. It's the right thing to do usually.

To each his own but Im not here in Thailand to help pay there bills. I don't often buy lady drinks for all the reasons you said but the mane reason is they drink them so fast and there is no alcohol in them and they add up fast. but to each his own. Good topic. though.

I think that will depend on the guy, i mean, i had pay lady drinks because I want to pay as I do with any girl i like in a bar and not because I need company. If somebody just can get company like that I get it, but if you have another way don't do it, because when you don't have money you will feel empty and lonely.

Not going to get very far on a night out in pattaya on 2000 bat drinks my bar bill normally 3k for a bottle of vodka in bar that’s before the lady drinks

I guess its how you look at what the "lady-drinks" are.... if you look at it as simply buying someone a drink.... then of course its a scam, but as you say, its not really about that. Looking forward to visiting again in a few weeks and will for sure heed your advice. My big worry though is I'm not a huge drinker...and by that there are more months I don't drink any alcohol than I do, and I always feel beyond uncomfortable not drinking at least beer when I'm in a bar in Thailand

you are correct ,if you have the cash and not worried about how much you spend go nuts ,some of my most favourite night were in bars were i just got the managers and couple girls blind ,tequila is your best bet ,as you get a tray and hard to water down.

I say , make the most of it when you go to these bars , cuz they will show you good time or at least keep you company , as far as sleeping with a guy , its subjective , cuz some will sleep with a guy who they feel is worth it verse others who they would say no like they never do that .

I average about 4-5. As I said, the ladies have much larger overheads than me so it’s them that need to earn more 🙏🏻 I will always put the Thais before myself and management.

Why did you say 'some waitresses don't want to go with customers'? Of course waitresses don't. Bar girls mostly do, but you need to be clear about the roles of the ladies in the beer & gogo bars. If anyone wants to be in these types of bars they have to buy lady drinks and give tips when they are fun to be with. That's how they survive. In BKK sometimes I quietly sit in a gogo bar with a single beer for a few minutes. Other times it's 5K - 10K on lady drinks. Just spend what you can afford, go where you have a good time and help them make a living.
