Thankyou Richard for another great video. As a one-time Mark 7 owner, my preference was the Jaguar Mark 9. Thankfully, the video wasn't spoiled by the over-amplified so-called music.

Nice to see at least one Mustang in the show. Didn’t see any other American Muscle. I would have thought they had made it over. Nice show

Hi 👋 I also want to mention, back in the 1970s I would go to Stockcar racing. In 1974 a wealthy guy made the news here because he bought a new Jaguar XJ 6 and entered it into a demolition derby. True. It got hammered by the other drivers in the event . It didn't last long on the track. I was thinking about that as I'm watching your video and seeing the lovely Jaguar XJ 6's in the show.

@oldclassiccarUK It was sad to watch really. A brand new Jag getting demolished.

I'm sorry, but knowing that you have other cars, why slap other classic owners in the face by bringing a Mazda MX5 to a classic cars show! (Especially if ya spending all day filming and asking other owners permission & questions regarding classic cars).....ps. and a BT yellow 1 at that......😢
@oldclassiccarUK3 ай бұрын
Slapping other owners in the face for taking my MX-5?!??!! Wowzers. If you don't like it, fine. Can't please everyone, never more true than on KZbin. PS I hope you got a receipt from the charm school. Thanks for watching.
@alancarlton83803 ай бұрын
Not charm school, it's called feedback! you asked me to subscribe (& I obliged) now knowing your the type of person that when the weather's not to your liking, u drive car that was part reason for British cars demise (only thing Mazda has in common with British cars is rust) also previously I asked about 1 of your family's classic cars (I think on Cheshire run which would've taken 5 mins to check, but u couldn't be bothered, and just gave 'don't know' answer......also when others give me 👍 it shows I'm not alone in thinking this......classic ownership is not driving reliable far-east fodder. 😢😢

Thanks for another great video. I own the Bedford CA Dormobile you filmed so thank you for your kind words about it. Everybody comments on the rear lights, the originals were missing when I got it and I always liked the Cortina lights so I fitted them.

The rear lamps suited it I think, from the right time period etc etc, thanks for watching

I hope like hell they didn't have to pay that guy attempting to sing in the background. Sounds like me, drunk, 21yrs old at a karaoke night at 3a.m. 🤦♂️🤷♂️

Hello Richard & Co . There's no doubt that down in the South West we are bereft of these amazing shows with such huge choices . That XJ 6 was indeed a worthy winner . I drove an identical car with intent to purchase way back in 1976 for my father . I thought the clutch too heavy for town driving , compared to my 4.2 auto . The series 1 was the perfect car. The LWB series 1 was rare and the only LWB I ever saw was a V12 , a rare beast indeed as was the series 2 SWB . As always , many thanks team .

:-) I got there in the end!
@peterbrooke81033 ай бұрын
Most folks don’t spot that, there are only 22 cars on the road in the UK and there were only 78 UK cars of the 1031 built so it’s a pretty rare beast 👍

The pale green Volvo PV, pale blue GT6 and green Rover P4 were the stars of the show for me Also the flexible spout oil can - I wouldn't be without mine, which facilitates lubrication at any angle!

Hi Richard, do you know which jaguars won the 5 categories? I thought the e type won the best jaguar but i note from your comments that you say the series 1 xj won that category.
@oldclassiccarUK3 ай бұрын
I wasn't paying a huge amount of attention but I'm fairly sure that both the cars you mention won something, the specifics of what though I'm not sure :) Maybe the XJ won best saloon, and the E-Type best overall?

Another enjoyable video RJ. My 1998 SLK will get its first outing next Saturday on a club run weather permitting, it doesn't go anywhere near rain. It has a new MOT without any issues, and has had a complete valet and full machine polish as well as a full service so we are all set to go,

Never saw a reliant kitten until today,until I went shopping and saw one in the supermarket car park. With the one on here,that's two in one day . Recognise the legs lol . That Bedford camper, were the brake lights original? They look like the same ones that were on a mk 1 cortina. The Figaro's I always thought they were some type of fiat when I first saw them...very art deco xx
@oldclassiccarUK4 ай бұрын
Yeah they were Mk1 Cortina rear lamps, pretty sure they're not the original fitment (although did suit it I thought)
