When I dry brush little detail pieces I like to use that tacky gum for sticking posters to the wall to put them on a piece of cork or old paint bottles or even just cardboard. That way I don't get paint on my fingers and I don't drop them.

Just try. What is the worst than can happen? If it is rubbish, throw it in the bin. Its just cardboard and paper and a bit of paint. Dont think too much about it. Just craft.
