You are a huge inspiration for when I first started guitar years ago. So happy to see you are still posting and arranging songs. ♥

NO WAY. STOP EVERYTHING. Never thought it would be possible to arrange this properly on solo guitar. I also never thought radical dreamers (the other best video game track ever) could be arranged for guitar but kabuki somehow managed to do that one too. I cannot believe this came up in my feed right now. Its a good day.

Me either! It's so weird how things just kind of "click," all of a sudden. I have looked at this piece COUNTLESS times, and never could make it work, and then all of a sudden, when I looked at it again recently, I immediately thought, "Oh, I SEE." Everything just fit. There were only two real trouble spots. One, was the ticking clock! I knew it was such an important, iconic, part of the piece, so leaving it out wasn't an option. That took a lot of tinkering to come up with something playable, because really, it's just the clock ticking, the arpeggiated notes, and a bass line. There wasn't much to "hide," behind. Initially the taps were with the thumb, but I know thumb tapping while playing notes is very tricky for a lot of people; it's an unusual wrist movement, so I had to come up with something else. The other trouble spot was the final section, because it changes key and becomes MUCH more uncomfortable on the guitar compared to the previous sections. Of COURSE, the final section would be the trickiest to arrange! Knowing I was only like 20 measures away from the end and hitting that roadblock was a punch to the gut! So close, yet so far! So, I had to get a little devious here and there and "cheat," a bit, but I finally made it to the finish line. I'm happy, because it was one I've always wanted to do, and I can finally cross it off my list. :)

@@kabukibear its so glorious man, that section before the ticking clock might be one of the greatest melodies ever written. The entire arrangement sounds fantastic, cant wait to join patreon to get the tabs :). Thanks for the extended response, love it.

A bit late to the party, but thank you for arranging this. I have been looking for tabs for a really long time, and this, I think, is my favorite yet. I got married in January last year, and this was the song I walked down the aisle to. Learning to play it makes me all kinds of emotional. Keep up the good work man

Any track in particular? I love Yasunori Mitsuda. I'm currently seeing if it's possible to arrange the entire soundtrack for Xenogears for solo guitar, but if you have a particular chrono track you can suggest, I'll take a look!

Dude… Butter is not this smooth! Edit: Honestly it seems like the Harmonics give that additional kick it needed. You wouldn't be able to achieve half of the flow here without them. They have such a unique sound and complete it. I could listen to this forever..
@kabukibear6 ай бұрын
Yeah, when I was trying to figure a few things out I had the idea of using harmonics, and then I couldn't seem to stop! The nice thing is that they're all natural harmonics; no weird artificial harmonics anywhere, so they're easy to pull off. See? I can be nice, sometimes. lololol

@@kabukibear You're always nice, the amount of music you're putting out is insane and awesome. I put you up on my FB not sure how else I can promote aside from sharing, liking etc but I do it and enjoy it.

@@michealwatts7469 thank you! I wish I knew how I could get more exposure. Apparently, if you look up other VG guitarists on youtube in icognito mode, I don't show up in related videos, so it's really tough, I guess, when you don't get THOUSANDS of views every video. I don't really know what to do about it; bums me out. With the commissions drying up after that first rush of interest, it's been tough, so I wish I knew what I could do to let people know about me. I just don't know what.
@michealwatts74696 ай бұрын
@@kabukibear The views per video is apparently the way, I mean I see more views on your videos than before but need more exposure to really kick it into over drive. I honestly hope you get it, you deserve what you have clearly earned. Like many, you helped me really get inspired and Radical Dreamers was the first I learned and it took forever. Still enjoy it and can play it followed by Millennial Fair which is by a lot my favorite thing to play. So yeah man I hope we can get you up there

also im not sure where that background image is from but its amazing also. Is that AI generated?
@kabukibear6 ай бұрын
Yeah, it's made by Midjourney. It took a bit of creative prompting and then some editing in photoshop to get the colors of his outfit closer to the original. It decided to have the gears and cogs over on the right, which I thought was perfect for the whole "time," aspect. Midjourney is, imo, the best at generating very artistic/creative images, compared to something like Bing, but it doesn't get everything correct so it usually involves some photoshopping afterward. I like it too, though, I have it as my desktop background now. XD
