I'm using hand and machine stitching to create gathers in fabrics today...Gathering fabrics is not only pretty quick to achieve but it can be both functional and decorative. Basically you can create a ruffled edge with just using runner/straight stitch and pulling the threads afterwards. Gathers can be used in garments on sleeves, waistlines and whereever you feel a fullness of fabric is needed...😍
