the thing with fletcher is, he's gone beyond his max to the point where his muscles know no limit, since his earliest workout days. you can be 70 years old with muscle memory and willpower like fletcher and still blow through any marathon. basically world class athlete mentality. hard work, dedication, courage and self mastery are the keys to success.

@Guppusmaximus11 жыл бұрын
You mean ROM (Range of Motion), right? The point is, when weight training is done in the full range of motion there are greater strength gains and more muscular growth when compared to training partial range. "Halfsies" are good to get used to adding more weight to a set,but, once you make the transition you should return to Full ROM.
@davekelly550311 жыл бұрын
Mr CT Fletcher. I take a bow, doff my cap. Total respect for your mental and physical strength . 54 and still pushing the boundaries. Inspirational .
@LulzRoyce10 жыл бұрын
Not locking out keeps tension on the chest the entire time. The bottom 50% of the lift - where you feel that stretch in the chest - is the chest working, and the top 50% of the lift and lockout is all triceps and delts. So for you bitches out there doing half reps and wondering why you're still rocking the bird chest THATS WHY.
@themaster6110 жыл бұрын
I'm confused by your comment. Based on your comment, I would think someone who did half reps would have a bigger chest being that the range in which a half rep is done is generally in the bottom 50%, where the chest is engaged or am I missing something?
@shawnbowers877410 жыл бұрын
Top5DOA He's talking about the other people... who only do the top half(or less) of the rep range.... There's a lot of those people out there, loading up the bar and then cracking their elbows a little bit. They'll even ask for a spot
@LulzRoyce10 жыл бұрын
Top5DOA Not in commercial gyms, half-repping usually refers to not doing full ROM in terms of never getting to the 'bottom' of the lift because that's the hardest sticking point - most gym-bro's never even get close to the bottom half and only spank away at the top 25-50% of the lift.
@themaster6110 жыл бұрын
Oh ok Shawn Bowers LulzRoyce I guess I was using the vid and my own half reps as the basis for your comment. I forgot people do those pathetic Top 30-40% reps. I'm with you.

DJYC21215 Oh, the magic word for "I cannot do this myself so I blame him for STEROIDS!" You must be such a winner. And by the way, if steroids help people be in that shape at that age after open heart surgery then steroids are fucking awesome. Most people at 54 barely get off coach.

Joona Keskinen Got to love it when fanboys think anyone speaking the truth is a hater, or someone bad@sports.
@ANeonSkinJoke10 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Don't get me wrong, I believe this guy is using. But no matter if he's using or not, this is still something about not many people on this planet could do at 54 even without surgery, steroids or not. And I really hate it when every time somebody is doing something awesome someone comes in and says "steroids". As if it would take away this epic thing we just saw. And steroids are actually used in medical science to make people better so this circus surrounding them should be put to sleep for good. Unless you're a professional athlete, but they're using anyway, testing or not. Steroids can cause health problems but they can also save lives and improve the quality of life, especially when you age and your body isn't responding and recovering as it used to. And if they help him to be in better shape at 54 than I'm at 25, then go for it.
@DJYC2121510 жыл бұрын
Joona Keskinen Take away the steroids, take away the record. I'm sorry the truth hurts but if you remove steroids from the equation you remove 90% of the world records in sports from the 70's and up. CT Fletcher included.

My husbands not a huge guy, but he is always stronger than the biggest guys in the gym. He out squats people twice his size, he out bench presses them he out does everything they do. When he sees a power lifter put up 800+ for 4 reps on the leg press, he waits in line gets on the machine and pushes out 20 reps explosively hulking out loud commanding his legs to explode! He is a fighter, and my heart is his prize. You have to see this man, he is not human. But it wasn't until he watched CT Fletcher that he got his motivation back. I cooked up too many delicious meals and made him fat and lazy. Thanks CT for motivating my beast of a man. He is no longer fat or lazy, he is even more motivated than I have ever seen him. His mind is why he out does everyone he comes across. He said if you believe you can lift it you might be right, but if you have absolute conviction and command it like CT! Not even God can stop you, cause it's still your mother F*CKING SET!
@PurpleNightmare5210 жыл бұрын
Lol, 800 pounds on a "leg press"? That's pretty weak. People load up 1500-2000 pounds on leg presses. Those numbers don't mean much and powerlifters squat, they don't leg press.
