Kelly takes Skip, a little boy in the children's ward at a local sanitarium, on an outing to an amusement park. There, she briefly loses sight of Skip, who bumps into two killers who drop their gun in the tussle. Skip picks it up and accidentally shoots Kelly, panics and runs away.
Kelly is hospitalized with a head wound while Sabrina and Jill take up the search for Skip trying to find his whereabouts using his favourite nursery rhyme. One of the killers, claiming to be Skip's father, visits Kelly in the hospital and learns clues to help him find Skip and silence him before Charlie's Angels or the police can get to him.

I wasn't a fan of this episode - slow on the action, fast on the plot holes. But let me know in the comments what YOU thought about To Kill an Angel?

"To Kill An Angel" is probably my least favorite 1st season episode. However, it's still 1st season and the 1st season of this show was, in my opinion, stellar. The premise was fine, a change of pace and that works for me. More subdued for sure and the storyline didn't lend itself to a lot of action, so it just wasn't going to be as exciting. I thought Skip was sweet; he didn't bother me, though to be honest, I had never once considered that he shot Kelly on purpose, but now that you say it, it DOES kind of look like that. So, that rates a big WTF? Kelly was his protector and champion, so why does he turn on her like that? Plot holes and inconsistencies usually don't get in my way of a good time, but this time it put me off a bit. So, yeah. I also enjoyed the scene where Sabrina and Jill shake down the sleazy porn publisher. Jill walks off with this scene with her exit line "I still think we should have busted him." So, now, I want to say something that I have always felt to be true and that is that Farrah WAS NOT A BAD ACTRESS ON THIS SHOW! Despite what all the critics and detractors might have thought at the time, and maybe still do think. What are they expecting? Like David Doyle said, "It ain't Shakespeare"... That's right, and I think that Farrah shows a real flair for light-weight comedy. The way she delivers her lines is pleasing to the ear and she is charming beyond belief. I MUCH prefer her acting as 1st season Jill Munroe (her guest star spots are another story) than any of those 80s victim roles she seemed drawn to. With the possible exception of "The Burning Bed", I didn't like her dramatic acting at all. And I have never appreciated this notion that drama is inherently superior to comedy. I think Farrah did a fantastic job as Jill Munroe. Back to the episode, I really liked the bit where Bree and Jill play with the bad guy by incapacitating him on the ride. And I like how a smile forms on Sabrina's face first, then Jill begins to smile a few seconds later. To me, it goes to show how Sabrina really gets it, with her warmth and humor, etc. Sabrina Duncan has more facets than any of the other angels (all of whom I adore nevertheless). The way she loses it at the hospital is more proof. And the wrap-up scene at the beach with the angels watching Skip fishing with his new dad-to-be (???) is so serene, really nice. I give this episode an 8.2

Ugh. I just don't like it at all. A couple of cute moments but overall I couldn't wait for it to end. You can't tell me Skip didn't pull that trigger on purpose. He gave her the coldest stare and then BAM. And then after ALL she's done for him he bails on her and leaves her for dead! Huge plot holes (as you say, not a deal breaker for CA) - but this time they're a distraction. The shakedown of the sleazy porn publisher is one of my favourite scenes. Period. I wish Farrah did more comedy. I think she has good timing and a real charm. Shame she focused on dramatic roles. Did she ever do any? Man of the House but I can't think of another film. Did you see her TV show Good Sports? I never did. At the time I thought what a great idea. He said/she said warring sports anchors. I wish that had taken off - maybe it just needed more time, which sadly most Networks don't give. Plenty of comedic actors are great at drama but that can't be said of dramatic actors who are good at comedy (Meryl Streep!). I listened to the commentary by Peter Bogdonavich for What's Up Doc and he spoke so highly of Madalyn Khan and in particular the scene where she's on the phone talking to Ryan O'Neal who's just discovered Barbra Streisand in his hotel room and who won't shut up. Madalyn hears the commotion and says "I'm coming in!" but the way she says those three words are SO hilarious. Bogdonavich says they were just three words on the page but Madalyn turned them into one of the funniest moments in the film. So yeah, I don't get why people insist drama is more difficult. I don't think so. For me, Farrah was an excellent dramatic actress, but I didn't like most of her later material. My favourites are Small Sacrifices, Poor Little Rich Girl and Extremeties. Those were outstanding performances.

This truly was a very boring episode. And I don’t like that kid! But to me it was still worth watching for two reasons: Kate’s and Farrah’s chemistry. And Kate’s great acting skills. I loved the scene when Kelly is rushed to the hospital. Sabrina is worried to death. Totally stressed out. Kate nails it. Another favorite scene is the one with the printer. It’s great fun to watch how Jill and Bri handle that sleazy guy!! But this really was sooo slow. I like the fun and the drama in it. But as you said only Kate could pull off the dramatic moments. Jaclyn was not convincing as a patient. And what were the writers/producers thinking? Only 5% survive gunshot wounds to the head. And a neurosurgeon once said that even those who survive and make a decent recovery will never be the same. And Kelly….how does she even manage to sneak ouf of the hospital in her state… I don't know. I love the 70s but this is very 70s, too... Thanks for sharing the trivia. I didn't know. Well I don’t think it would have made much of a difference when it comes to the acting. And was Kelly’s part really more interesting? Not sure. But of course it's understandable they tried to get the interesting parts in each episode and Farrah would have preferred Jaclyn's part so that sure must have been disappointing. I didn’t notice Kate wore that red pant suit in those two episodes in a row. You are right! Yeah that’s not good. But given the fact that the previous episode The Killing Kind must have been the very first one they filmed, this one here „To Kill an Angel“ was likely filmed several weeks later. Someone of the crew should have kept track of the outfits, as well. Loved the ending with the three angels on the beach. Lovely and fun. But then again, Kelly in a skimpy outfit and Jill in a jacket and all and Sabrina in jeans and a blouse. It really seems windy and more on the cool side. And I still don’t like that kid… ;-) Although he must have been quite an experienced child actor because he had already done a movie with Katharine Hepburn according to Jaclyn Smith.

Ha, what were they thinking about the gun shot to the head! Of all things. Leave logic at the door. That whole premise was a bunch of nonsense! At least there were some great scenes with Kate and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the shakedown of the girlie magazine publisher. The wardrobe was for sure a malfunction - I'd love to see a shot list/run sheet from the filming of these episodes. I might have to Google/ebay that and see if I can find something. The ending was cute, but yeah, the wardrobe was all over the place. I noticed that happens a lot in the show where one Angel is dressed for Summer while another (usually Kate!) is dressed for Winter. Didn't know the actor who played Skip had filmed with Katherine Hepburn! Lady Killer will be online soon. I REALLY enjoyed that episode! Great dialogue, pretty good plot and Kate was wonderful in it (some beautiful close ups too)

@@RetroQTV Haha the shakedown of that guy truly was one of the best scenes on the show. One of my many favorite scenes. Apparently Kelly is shot in the head for a second time. In the final episode of Season 5. What the heck were the producers thinking! That's just dumb! LOL. Oh Lady Killer! It's definitely a very good episode that has fun and drama. And Kate is terrific! Looking forward to it.

I also think this is Jaclyn Smith's finest moment as Kelly Garrett. She is sweet and maternal and as I suspect Ms. Smith is like this in real life, she didn't have to try as hard and her comfort level shows here.

I don’t agree with your feelings about Skip. I like him. The mother has work to do before getting her kid back. But I liked it.
