@@LesDoesitAll-l8b This song was originally written by them for Otis Redding who sadly passed before he could record. It's worth noting that the brothers have been performing since they were children (video clips are online) and Barry won awards for his songwriting as a teenager.

Patty-I finished my teen years with them. They were in their teens as well. I love their writing, singing, and producing gifts. You can pick any song and won't go wrong. Have you listened to Holiday, New York Mining Disaster 1941? They wrote that in a stairwell in the dark. I believe they were touched by God.

Song was originally written for legendary soul singer Otis Redding. Sadly Redding died before he could record it so Bee Gees recorded it themselves. Has been recorded by many other artists but nothing beats the original. You are doing great picking. Can’t go wrong with any of their songs. You can run any song of theirs back no complaints here. Written by a 20/21 year old and two 17/18 year olds. Loved the video and your reaction. They sang this all through their career. Barry still sings it. A few other songs from 60s : Massachusetts Words 1st of May Holiday Gotta get a message to you New York Mining Disaster 1942

You should check out their performance of this on the Arsenio Hall show, they kept singing it throughout their musical career. There are also hundreds of covers of many of their songs. When He's Gone is also in the same video. One of their very best renditions of this over the years.

The 60s were a really good time for the Bee gees. There's another one called Words, from about this same time. You can search BeeGees Words The Ed Sullivan show and after that you could check out a later version and search Bee gees - Words (1979). In concert, Barry always sang Words directly to his wife, who was always in the audience. The Bee gees weren't just great singers and songwriters, they were beautiful human beings. I know I've recommended a couple of other songs to you, and I'm sure you'll get to them someday, but really you can't go wrong with the Bee gees.
