Q: "Where's Darla been all this time?" A: Angel dusted Darla BVS season 1. I don't remember if they fill you in right away or torture you a little at a time until the picture comes together. So, not to spoil anything, I'll just say next season is a good one.

Definitely one of my favorite episodes from season 1, Lindsey getting he's A$$ handed to him or getting the Skywalker treatment lol hand cut off, Angel rage mode kick in after Cordy and Wes get hurt and finally telling Kate back off! And oh yeah....Darla!!!! Back from the dead 🎆🤘

It's a terrific Finale. Sets up a brilliant S2. What's great about The Buffyverse is seeing old characters introduced back into it which always adds to brilliant plotlines. Love it when Angel says to one handed Lindsey when he tries to burn the scroll 'don't always believe everything that's foretold''. Wesley comes to the rescue with his brilliance in translation, but messes up with Angel's prophecy saying he is going to live! The revelation of Darla being brought back sets up some great episodes for S2. The last five episodes of Angel S1 were superb. Still cannot understand some BTVS fans refusing to watch Angel. The best episodes of this show are more than a match for BTVS, and in many cases surpassed it.

Darla was killed in Buffy in season 1, but this spell brought her back.. If you go back and watch the spell right before the tornado started, it dusted the vampires near the box which was a nice touch and a hint in itself :-)

And after a so so penultimate episode, this finale really tied things together and really raised the stakes moving forward for sure. Really great performances by all but DB really carried this ep, showing how much he cared about his crew, and then the prospect of the hope of a reward for all of his efforts that seemingly felt like something he had to do for redemption, but with the prospect of some reward you could really see it on his face. And the development that the characters of Cordy and Wesley from where they started is just amazing, and there's so much more to come... Great reaction as always, D! Very much looking forward to S2 and to getting to the other 2 Dakara treats you've uploaded today! A CTU to start off the triple treat today.... Keep em coming!

I love that you love Cordelia. I was excited for u to see her appear on Angel when you skipped the credits as advised and for her journey in general over the course of the first season alone. In my opinion, the character development of Cordelia, Wesley & Willow is some of the finest examples in fiction as character development is one of the best things about enjoying fiction. When plot is character driven, it's powerful and lasting. I really hope people are not spoiling the future of the shows for you because reaction video or not, your inner child deserves not to be spoiled with the big moments of these shows. I agree with the majority of your views on character and story, there is a lot to look back into once you finish viewing that in private it will make the show far more enjoyable when you see how much foreshadowing was included for both shows, in the early years of Buffy and the first season of Angel and not just nods that were played up on or hints, there has been full on dialogue, cryptic or otherwise in dreams or with a character reading about a demon and skimming pass or mentioning briefly something that will be HUGE later on. Remember Buffys dreams with Faith for one? You're adorable and I'm so glad Buffy and her legacy continues to live on into each generation. No pun intended. Enjoy Buffy season 5 and Angel season 2. Will be watching alongside with you ❤

I'll tell you this: if Cordy is in pain, I'm in pain. She has come so far from when we first met her in Sunnydale to where she is now. She has a bigger purpose in life and that's to help the helpless. I love that! ❤ And Angel will Shanshu? Live? Interesting indeed. I love Kate but hate where they're taking her character. I would of written her to help be part of the Angel crew early on. And because she is a cop, i wouodve written her to be more open and curious about the supernatural world and want to help stop evil with Angel after crap went down with her father. I mean she is known in her department by her colleagues as the cop who takes on the weird, unsolved cases. What better way for her to solve them then by getting Angel and crew to help solve those cases with her. It also gives the possibility of Kate being more involved in the supernatural world and eventually become part of the cause in helping save the world with him. And let me tell you that when we saw Darla get brought back, I literally gasped and went "Oh shit!" With a big ol' grin upon my face lol. Oh yes. Let's roll the dice and get crazy 🤪.

Elisabeth Rohm, who I know best from the original Law&Order, was committed to a short-lived series called, "The Street". So she couldn't commit to Angel full time, but you're right that Kate would have great on the team.

Gunn, Lorne, and Fred are all great additions to this cast. 19:31 To be fair, Darla was _gone._ We've never seen a dusted vampire get resurrected (aside from alt-universe stuff like Wish/Doppelgangland), so it wasn't clear that it was even possible for Darla to be in that box. But I'm so glad. Darla is one of the my favorite characters of the entire Buffyverse.

One of the differences between BTVS and ATS (and one thing I actually think I might prefer ATS for) is that on Buffy we have the core four group (B/X/W/G) from the first episode --- and pretty much everyone else added after is something of a satellite to those characters (usually a love interest). Even Cordy (who was a "main" from the start) ends up primarily as Xander's girlfriend, or (in s3) Xander's Ex --- the group (for admittedly understandable reasons) all side with Xander in break-up. On ATS we start off with Cordy, Angel and Doyle, and everyone added from then on is brought in and become part of the group in their own right. Cordy, Angel and Wes are as close a "family" as Cordy, Angel and Doyle were etc.

Darla is back. If you were paying attention the word raising was used quite a bit by the bad guys, that meant bringing something, or in this case someone, back from the other side. As far as the family tree goes. Darla sired Angel, who sired Drucilla, who then sired Spike. Pretty messed up. Also about the prophesy; those are very tricky things, and almost never mean what you think they mean.

Obviously on both B/A there are numerous main characters that come and go, but just like B/W/X is always the core of Buffy for me, A/C/W is, for me, the core of Angel.

Giles always feels like a plot device for Buffy...he wanders aimlessly during season 4, admits he doesn't belong any more and intends to leave at the start of season 5, and then actually leaves during seasons 6 (Twice, once because Buffy's dead and once because she needs to stand on her own - note that neither time does he leave because he wants and existence outside of Buffy's life, but because he comes and goes according to what Buffy needs at that moment.) and 7. They don't even bother to maintain the one social relationship that he has, Olivia who visits twice during season 4. Other than that he has no age-appropriate friends or social life that we see. He never feels like he has his own existence outside of what Buffy needs. Gunn to me never feels like a character that can stand on his own, I find most episodes that focus in on him to be amongst my least favorites. He's probably core for some people, which makes sense, but outside of season 5, he feels mostly like a 5th wheel to me. F: Only on the show for about 2.5 seasons total (for the last half of 5 she was dead) and her whole arc was coming out of her hotel room just to become a plot device in Wesley's arc.

The fact of the matter is Buffy and Angel are the main characters so they will be getting most of the development. But even with that being said it's amazing how much development the side characters get. Gunn in particular is such a well developed character who he is from season 1 to 5 it's amazing seeing him go from one to the other.

I will say what I thought when I first saw this episode. That he already became human, but went to the Powers that Be to become a vampire again, so I wondered if this was predicting what had already happened.

I nice theory, but that day ONLY exists in Angel's memory... so it never ACTUALLY happened. Doesn't mean you're not right, but I think as interpretations go it would be weaker (which is not necessarily the same as "inaccurate" plenty of authors play with prophesy and subversion of expectations, often with the most widely accepted and obvious interpretation being utterly false :P)

I may exist "only in his mind"... now. But it did happen. And he rejected it. "The powers that be" know this, and remember it. But the prophecy could have still predicted it, and after it was rejected, and time was reset, doesn't mean the prophecy changed.

Angel as a character is very "tortured soul", obviously, because that's how he was designed from the beginning, but this often means he's a bit of a doormat in some respects. People can be mean to him and he'll take it, but only so far. Push him and push him and he'll bite back (pun not intended!) but usually with the truth. This explains why Angelus, the evil form of Angel who still has his basic personality, is so good at hurting people using the truth. Of course Angel isn't trying to hurt people when he does it, but he'll only take abuse from people for so long before he realizes he doesn't really deserve it. I think this is progress in Angel's characterization since he was somewhat suicidal at the beginning of Buffy. He still has a ways to go but it's still progress!

a hell dimension would be my guess too, that is why she resembles the way Angel comes back all disoriented and shaking when he comes back in Buffy season 3. Very similar, maybe she was even naked.
